Title: Compressor Mechanic

Location: Delaware Basin

Pay: $30.00 - $45.00/HR

Position Overview:

As a Compressor Mechanic, you will play a vital role within our mechanical team, working closely with colleagues to troubleshoot and resolve issues related to compressor systems. Your expertise in maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing compressors and engines will ensure the seamless operation of equipment in the field.

Compressor Mechanics will have the Knowledge and Ability to Perform the Following:

ยท Repair and Maintenance: Overhaul and maintain compressors ranging from 250 to 1200 HP.

ยท Diagnosis: Independently and accurately diagnose engine/compressor failures.

ยท Technical Skills: Utilize intermediate computer skills, including engine-specific software (Caterpillar), Internet Explorer, and Outlook.

ยท Rebuilds/Overhauls: Lead comprehensive rebuilds and overhauls of compressors, engines, and controls under adverse conditions without supervision.

ยท Troubleshooting: Address electrical systems, controls, and unit control panels such as Murphy, Altronic, and Allen Bradley. Execute advanced engine tuning for optimal performance and emissions, especially on CAT 3300 and 3600 series engines.

ยท Commissioning: Conduct start-up inspections autonomously.

ยท Mechanical Inspection: Perform mechanical inspections using micrometers, pressure gauges, electronic diagnostic equipment, and other specialty tools independently.

ยท Emergency Response: Respond to and repair recurring issues and provide emergency services as needed, including on-call rotations.

ยท Preventive and Corrective Maintenance: Provide field mechanical services for centrifugal and reciprocating compressors.

ยท Component Repair: Disassemble, repair, and reassemble components to ensure proper alignment, balance, and tolerances.

ยท Specific Tasks: Remove and clean compressor rotors, replace and install gearboxes, and inspect equipment, checking bearing clearances and rotor conditions.

ยท Compressor Repairs: Perform detailed compressor repairs including mechanical seal removal and other necessary disassembly.

Mandatory Qualifications:

ยท Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience with compressors and electrical (Ariel) engines, and a working knowledge of production equipment.

ยท Location: Applicants must reside within a 70-mile radius of the location.

ยท Mobility: Ability to drive up to 300 miles per day.

ยท Technical Skills: Experience with pumping units, plunger lifts, gas lifts, ESPs, VRUs, and VRTs.

ยท Documentation: Proficiency in necessary computer documentation and data entry on a daily basis.

ยท Compliance: Willingness to undergo background checks, driving record checks, and pass DOT drug screening.
