Position : Plant Mechanic

Duration :  6-month contract to hire

Openings: 1

Shift: Sunday – Thursday   

Hours: 11:30p – 7:00am

                *Candidate will start on 1st shift (7a-3:30p) for training for at least 1 month

Location: 3001 W Dr Martin Luther King Jr Blvd, Tampa, FL 33607

 

Interview Process/Availability: 1 and done in person

Must Haves:

  • 3-4 years of Mechanical maintenance experience
    • Replacing pumps, belts, valves, etc
  • Knowledge of Building Automation Systems (BAS)
    • Ex: Johnson Controls, Honeywell, TRANE
    • Used for monitoring temperature, water levels, air pressure
    • Great customer service skills

Day to Day:

Insight Global is looking for a Plant Mechanic to join their team for a 6-month contract to hire opportunity. This candidate will be responsible for performing preventive maintenance and repairs on HVAC systems, boilers, chillers, pumps, and other mechanical equipment. This candidate will be supporting a 2 million sq ft facility along with the hospital plant connected. Additionally, they’ll be troubleshooting and diagnosing mechanical issues to minimize downtime and ensure operational efficiency across this health system.

 Boiler PMs (preventative maintenance)

  • Check pressure, temp, and water levels
  • Blowdown to remove buildup
  • Inspect burners, valves, and pumps
  • Test safety controls (low water cutoff, relief valves)
  • Clean tubes / remove scale (periodic)
  • Verify water treatment

❄️ Chiller PMs (preventative maintenance)

  • Monitor temps, pressures, oil levels
  • Check for leaks, noise, vibration
  • Clean filters, coils, condenser tubes
  • Inspect compressor, pumps, and fans
  • Test refrigerant levels and controls
  • Calibrate sensors / BAS integration
