Job description

The Compounding Technician will work in a Non-Sterile Lab, under the supervision of the Pharmacist, and be responsible for compounding various dosage forms and compounded prescription types utilizing methods such as levigation, trituration, titration, and geometric dilution. In addition, the selected candidate will utilize an Unguator, Ointment Mill, Graduate Cylinders, Suppository Molds, Troche Molds, Topical Syringes, and other equipment as necessary to prepare compounds.

Additional Responsibilities/Duties:

  • Preparation and compounding of non-sterile dosage forms in compliance with USP 795

  • Utilizing a benchtop powder hood to weigh powders and measure liquids

  • Preparing suppositories, troches, suspensions, solutions, creams, ointments, and other dosage forms

  • Cleaning all equipment utilized between compounds to ensure there is no cross contamination

  • Labeling and packaging of prepared compounds

  • Inventory Management and storage

The selected candidate Must Have:

  • Minimum of 2 years recent non-sterile compounding experience

  • Current PTCB Certification and/or Current Virginia Board of Pharmacy License

  • High School Graduate
