Job description

Community Pharmacy, a Pharmacy Innovations company, is seeking an experienced Licensed Pharmacy Technician to join our Denton team. This position is primarily focused on patient service and prescription processing, with opportunities to assist in compounding for technicians with appropriate training and experience.
Key Responsibilities:
Processing & Customer Service
In this role you will support our front-end team assisting with customers, both in person and over the phone/via the portal, performing a myriad of duties from data entry to prescription checking, in-person delivery and shipping. This position requires a proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining a positive attitude. Ultimately, your efforts will help enhance the overall customer experience and support the company's reputation for excellent service.

  • Deliver exceptional customer service by actively listening to customer concerns, responding with empathy, and ensuring all inquiries are addressed with professionalism and care.
  • Accurately process, fill, and dispense prescriptions by reviewing original orders and pharmacy documentation in compliance with company policy and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain comprehensive and confidential records of all customer interactions, including inquiries, prescription issues, complaints, and resolutions.
  • Proactively identify and escalate complex concerns to pharmacists or appropriate departments to ensure timely and accurate follow-through.
  • Support patient retention by creating a positive and helpful experience, following up on open issues, and confirming that patient needs are met consistently.
  • Process payments, managing billing tasks, providing support for account updates, and claim submission.
  • Foster a compassionate, respectful, and efficient environment to ensure each patient feels valued, safe, and supported in their healthcare journey.
  • Communicate effectively and confidentially with patients through our secure messaging portal to address questions, confirm order statuses, and relay follow-up information.
Prescription Compounding, Preparation, & Processing
Pharmacy Technicians with sterile and/or non-sterile compounding experience may perform all the activities associated with compounding formulations based upon the high standards of compounding practices of our pharmacy ensuring State and Federal laws pertaining to prescriptions are followed.
  • Assist the pharmacist with the preparation and dispensing of medications and supplies in accordance with company policies and procedures, as well as state and federal regulations & standards.
  • Prepare compounded medications according to formulations and USP standards.
  • Perform basic pharmaceutical calculations.
  • Maintain appropriate documentation and record-keeping for all compounded preparations
  • Assist with inventory management, including ordering and receiving supplies.
  • Operate and maintain compounding equipment and facilities.
Qualifications:
Required
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Texas Pharmacy Technician license (required)
  • Basic computer skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Regular and predictable attendance
Preferred
  • Compounding Lab Experience - sterile or non-sterile
Physical Demands:
Be mobile and remain upright for extended periods of time
  • Lift, scan, and bag items
  • Reach overhead; stretch or reach out with the body, arms, and/or legs to grasp items
  • Move fingers repetitively, picking, pinching, typing, or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than whole hand or arm
  • Extend hand(s) and arm(s) multiple directions to place, move, or lift items
  • Control precision; quickly adjust machines to exact positions
  • Stoop to a considerable degree, requiring full use of the lower extremities and back muscles to move items between low and high positions, including bending spine at the waist
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as transcribing, viewing a computer terminal, reading, visual inspection involving small parts
  • Able to receive detailed information through oral communication
