Job Title: Pharmacy Technician – Inpatient (IV Compounding)
Location: Rockville, MD 20850
Duration: 13 Weeks
Shift: Rotating 5x8-hour shifts (06:00 AM – 2:30 PM, 08:00 AM – 4:30 PM, 01:00 PM – 9:30 PM, 02:00 PM – 10:30 PM)
 

Key Responsibilities:


The Pharmacy Technician will be responsible for sterile compounding of IV medications, including chemotherapy and hazardous drugs, medication packaging, unit dose preparation, and supporting automated dispensing systems. Additional duties include inventory management, medication dispensing support, and maintaining compliance with safety and regulatory standards.

Technicians will also assist in medication distribution workflows, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and adherence to hospital protocols.

Required Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of inpatient pharmacy technician experience
  • IV compounding experience (non-hazardous required; hazardous preferred)
  • Active Maryland Board of Pharmacy Technician License
  • CPhT certification required
  • Strong knowledge of aseptic technique and sterile compounding practices
  • Experience in inpatient or acute care hospital pharmacy
