Job description

Overview
Inpatient pharmacy technicians are responsible for maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging and delivery of medications. They may prepare IV medications and are tasked with maintaining an optimal environment for the preparation and storage of medications. They also assist the pharmacists in meeting all regulatory compliance requirements. The Pharmacy Technician II will have broader responsibilities in the pharmacy and other specialty areas. They will have responsibility in multiple areas maintaining medication systems through preparation, compounding, packaging, delivery of medications, verifying correct medication is selected for the automated dispensing cabinet (ADC) refill functions, and assisting in the training and education of other technicians. Pharmacy technician II will fulfill all responsibilities of Pharmacy Technician I.

Required Education:
High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Education:
High School Graduate with at least (1) year pharmacy technician experience
Required Licensure/Certifications:
Registered Pharmacy Intern in Florida or Registered Pharmacy Technician in Florida
Preferred Licensure/Certifications:
N/A
Required Experience:
6 months technician experience in relevant practice area - see required education and required licensure/certification sections for details
Preferred Experience:
One or more years of pharmacy technician experience
