| Industry Usage | Primarily in aerospace manufacturing and repair of composite structures | Commercial and private aviation maintenance |
Composite Mechanics focus on repairing and fabricating aircraft structures using composite materials, requiring specialized training and certifications. Aircraft Maintenance Technicians perform broader maintenance tasks on aircraft, including inspections and repairs across various systems. While both roles require FAA certifications, Composite Mechanics have a niche expertise in composites, whereas Aircraft Maintenance Technicians handle a wider range of aircraft maintenance duties.
