What is a composite layup?

A Composite Layup job involves assembling and layering composite materials, such as carbon fiber or fiberglass, to create strong, lightweight components used in industries like aerospace, automotive, and marine. Workers follow detailed blueprints and use resins or adhesives to bind layers together before curing. This role requires precision, attention to detail, and knowledge of material properties to ensure high-quality finished products.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive in a composite layup position?

To succeed as a Composite Layup technician, you need strong manual dexterity, attention to detail, and experience working with composite materials such as carbon fiber or fiberglass, often gained through a technical diploma or relevant work experience.
