Job description

General Responsibilities

Terracon is seeking an experienced Regulatory Compliance Project Manager to join our Team in the Midvale office!

This is an excellent opportunity for a highly motivated individual to lead regulatory compliance efforts in Utah and assist staff and clients across the country.

We are looking for someone with broad compliance experience that can mentor staff and build our regulatory compliance practice in Utah and to join our nationwide compliance team. Some of the compliance skills we are currently looking for include:

  • Stormwater/SWPPP
  • RCRA/Hazardous waste
  • Compliance auditing
  • Oil Storage/SPCC plans
  • SARA Title III (Tier II/TRI) reporting
  • Industrial wastewater/NPDES
  • Sustainability/ESG
  • Air permitting (Title V and minor source)

To be successful in this role, you will need to be confident and possess a strong technical background with proven leadership skills. You will manage projects, prepare reports and deliverables, develop client relationships and assist with training and directing staff on projects. You will serve as a local point of contact for Environmental Compliance services.

Essential Roles and Responsibilities
  • Maintain and expand existing environmental compliance services.
  • Prepare calculations, applications, plans, reports, proposals, and other deliverables.
  • Manage projects to ensure quality and timeliness.
  • Understand the local and regional market.
  • Develop strong working relationships with clients.
  • Develop proposals in response to RFPs and client requests.
  • Participate in the development of local and regional marketing strategies.
  • Support safety efforts to promote safety rules and guidelines.
  • Evaluate problems and develop practical solutions that enable our clients to achieve and maintain compliance with environmental regulations.
Requirements
  • Bachelor’s degree in Science or Engineering
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in a full-time consulting role
  • Be conformable working as a team in the office
  • Demonstrate a high level of technical writing ability
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills
  • Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and accomplish work and possess a positive attitude
  • Valid driver’s license with acceptable violation history
  • 40-Hour OSHA HAZWOPER and current 8-Hr refresher preferred
