What Our Tax Managers Do:
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Mentor, supervise and train seniors and staff through counsel, guidance and coaching
  • Work with staff to ensure individual and business tax returns are completed correctly and by required deadlines
  • Analyze the U.S. federal and state tax impact of Blockchain, Crypto and Digital Currencies (BCDC) and special initiatives and the related support needed to operationalize those initiatives
  • Provide tax support for BCDC business unit initiatives including the geographic expansion of our crypto offerings and other crypto-related projects
  • Delegate work as appropriate and hold staff and seniors accountable for the work that has been delegated to them
  • Responsible for technical review of tax compliance and consulting engagements for all assigned clients to ensure quality and accuracy
  • Maintain accuracy and completeness of due date control system on all assigned clients
  • Proactively address tax issues and conduct appropriate research regarding client's tax issues in order to resolve them
  • Proficient in various software applications including ProSystem fx Engagement, Practice, XCM, and online research services
  • Manage Client accounts including billing, fee analysis and new service development
  • Develop strong client relationships and maintain regular proactive contact to anticipate and address client concerns and escalating problems as they arise
  • Conduct performance reviews and update short-term goals of staff semi-annually or more frequently if necessary
  • Provide high-quality and proactive tax service and retain existing clients
  • Assist to insure that compliance with Circular 230, AICPA Statements of Standards, and Board of Accountancy and other legal and regulatory requirements is maintained

Qualifications:
  • Licensed CPA in your state of hire
  • Bachelor's degree from four-year College or university
  • Master's degree preferred
  • Cryptocurrency experience highly preferred
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated leadership skills
  • Extensive knowledge of tax research sources
  • Strong knowledge of Internal Revenue Code and regulations, various tax forms and their interrelationships, return filing requirements and due dates
  • Four to eight years related experience and / or training
