About Us:
We are a multi-state operator of skilled nursing and senior living facilities committed to delivering high-quality care and cultivating a strong, compliant workforce. We are seeking an experienced HR Risk Manager to join our team and oversee critical aspects of risk management related to workers’ compensation, transportation compliance, and legal exposure across our facilities.

Position Summary:
The HR Risk Manager plays a vital role in minimizing legal and financial exposure by managing workers’ compensation programs, auditing injury reports and claims, providing training and support to facility leadership, and ensuring transportation compliance for company vehicles. This position requires a proactive leader who can collaborate across departments and state lines to ensure regulatory compliance and risk mitigation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee workers’ compensation claims, ensuring timely and accurate reporting, coordination with third-party administrators, and follow-through on return-to-work plans.
  • Conduct audits of injury logs, incident reports, and claims data to identify trends and opportunities for prevention and early intervention.
  • Support and coach facility teams in proper injury documentation, corrective actions, and OSHA reporting requirements.
  • Partner with legal counsel and insurance carriers on litigated cases to ensure effective case management and resolution.
  • Track and ensure transportation compliance with company vehicle usage, DMV record monitoring, and insurance coverage requirements.
  • Provide education and training to facility leaders and staff on injury prevention, risk practices, and transportation safety protocols.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for risk-related inquiries from facilities, vendors, and leadership.
  • Develop and monitor KPIs for injury trends, claim resolution, and compliance audits.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Risk Management, or a related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in HR, workers’ compensation, or risk management in a healthcare or multi-site organization, preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, workers’ compensation laws, and vehicle compliance standards across multiple states.
  • Experience supporting litigated workers’ comp or labor cases in collaboration with legal teams.
  • Ability to conduct facility audits and prepare professional reports and recommendations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable providing training and guidance to field leaders.
  • Willingness to travel occasionally to support facilities and/or to complete program audit in multiple states.
