Location: Huntsville, AL and overseas customer location

Position Status: Full Time

Brief Job Description:

The Senior Operations Specialist serves as a subject matter expert responsible for planning, coordinating, and overseeing operational activities supporting platforms operating under Contractor-Owned Contractor-Operated (COCO), Contractor-Owned Government-Operated (COGO), and Government-Owned Contractor-Operated (GOCO) support models. This position provides operational leadership, ensures platform readiness, resolves complex operational issues, and serves as a primary interface between operational, logistics, maintenance, and customer stakeholders to support mission success across multiple environments.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate platform operations in accordance with mission requirements and approved support models.
  • Plan, organize, and oversee operational activities involving COCO, COGO, and GOCO platforms.
  • Monitor, assess, and report platform readiness, availability, and operational status.
  • Analyze and resolve complex issues impacting platform employment, mission execution, and sustainment activities.
  • Coordinate with logistics, maintenance, supply chain, and operational teams to ensure continued mission support.
  • Develop and maintain operational plans, procedures, reports, and readiness documentation.
  • Provide operational guidance and recommendations to management and government stakeholders.
  • Ensure platform operations are conducted safely and in compliance with applicable regulations, policies, and contractual requirements.
  • Support mission planning, execution, contingency operations, and operational assessments.
  • Lead operational reviews, status meetings, and coordination efforts across multiple organizations.
  • Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions to enhance operational effectiveness and efficiency.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to Junior and Journeyman Operations Specialists.
  • Support customer engagements, briefings, and operational reporting requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

  • Active Secret Security Clearance.
  • Minimum of 11 years of experience supporting operations, logistics, military, aviation, maritime, unmanned systems, or related mission environments.
  • Demonstrated experience coordinating complex operational activities across multiple organizations and stakeholders.
  • Strong knowledge of operational planning, readiness reporting, platform sustainment, and mission execution processes.
  • Experience analyzing operational issues and developing effective solutions in dynamic environments.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and operational management or tracking systems.
  • Ability to work independently and provide leadership in fast-paced operational environments.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Operations Management, Logistics, Aviation, Business, Military Science, or a related field.
  • Prior military leadership experience or experience supporting Department of Defense operations.
  • Familiarity with operational readiness reporting systems, logistics systems, and sustainment planning.
  • Experience supporting deployed or OCONUS operations.

Physical Requirements:

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have sufficient mobility to include but not limited to: bending, reaching, climbing, turning, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. There is a possibility that due to parking availability and location of work, walking moderate to long distances may be required. Must be able to lift, move, and transport items frequently over 10 pounds.

Work Environment:

Generally, work is conducted in an inside office environment, but may also involve some outside work depending on the task. The inside environment may be in an office or cubicle with close quarters, low to moderate noise, and bright or dim lighting. Outside work may include various environmental conditions including warm and cold climates and while on travel.
