Job Description SummaryCommercial Finance Manager is a strategic finance leader responsible for driving profitable growth by partnering with Commercial, Product, Marketing, and Executive Leadership. This role serves as the financial advisor to the Chief Commercial Officer (CCO) and business leaders, leading commercial planning, bookings forecasting, pricing strategy, investment analysis, and commercial performance management.
The role focuses on maximizing orders, bookings, Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR), and long-term customer value through data-driven insights and disciplined commercial decision-making.Job Description

Roles & Responsibilities

Commercial Strategy & Growth

  • Partner with executive leadership to develop commercial strategies that accelerate bookings growth and market expansion.
  • Evaluate new market opportunities, customer segments, sales channels, and commercial business models.
  • Lead long-range commercial planning and growth scenario modeling.
  • Develop financial recommendations for strategic growth initiatives and acquisitions.

Bookings Forecasting & Commercial Planning

  • Own the enterprise bookings forecast and commercial outlook.
  • Develop driver-based forecasting models for orders, bookings, ARR, renewals, and pipeline conversion.
  • Partner with Sales leadership to evaluate forecast risks, opportunities, and mitigation plans.
  • Monitor forecast accuracy and continuously improve forecasting methodologies.

Commercial Investment Analysis

  • Lead business case development for product investments, market expansion initiatives, pricing strategies, and strategic programs.
  • Build evidence-based forecasts for incremental bookings and revenue associated with proposed investments.
  • Validate assumptions through customer insights, pipeline analysis, competitive intelligence, and historical performance.
  • Track post-investment results to ensure expected commercial outcomes are achieved.

Pricing & Deal Strategy

  • Develop pricing strategies that maximize revenue growth and profitability.
  • Establish pricing governance, discount frameworks, and commercial approval processes.
  • Support strategic deal negotiations by evaluating commercial and financial tradeoffs.
  • Assess customer lifetime value, profitability, and long-term commercial impact of major transactions.

Commercial Analytics

  • Develop executive dashboards and KPIs to monitor commercial performance.
  • Analyze bookings, pipeline health, win/loss trends, pricing realization, customer profitability, and market performance.
  • Identify growth opportunities and recommend actions to improve commercial outcomes.

Customer & Market Economics

  • Evaluate customer acquisition, expansion, retention, and renewal economics.
  • Analyze market dynamics and competitive positioning.
  • Recommend actions to improve customer lifetime value and commercial returns.

Cross-Functional Leadership & Partnership

  • Partner closely with Sales, Product Management, Marketing, Strategy, Business Operations, Finance, and Executive Leadership teams.
  • Serve as the finance leader in commercial planning, product roadmap reviews, and investment governance forums.
  • Provide objective financial guidance and challenge commercial assumptions while enabling growth-oriented decision-making.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of progressive experience in Commercial Finance, FP&A, Strategic Finance, Corporate Finance, or related disciplines.
  • Experience supporting software, SaaS, healthcare technology, or other technology-driven organizations.
  • Strong experience in financial planning, forecasting, commercial analysis, and business case development.

  • MBA or advanced business degree preferred.
  • Proven experience partnering with sales organizations and influencing commercial decision-making.
  • Strong financial modeling, forecasting, and strategic planning capabilities.

It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the pay range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. The specific compensation offered to a candidate may be influenced by a variety of factors including skills, qualifications, experience and location. In addition, this position may also be eligible to earn performance based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonus(es) and/or long term incentives (LTI).
