Traveling Lead Technician (50-60 Hours/Week)
If you thrive in the fast-paced environment of 500k+ sq. ft. distribution centers and don't mind the travel, this is the role for you. We're looking for a hard-working Lead Technician to coordinate daily tasks with the Foreman, operate 40ft+ lifts, and keep our installations on track. We offer steady OT and the chance to run crews on some of the biggest builds in the country.
 
We seek self-motivated and reliable technicians for service and special installation projects, who can work independently and find solutions to complete the job. Qualifications:
  • 3-5+ years of low-voltage or data cabling experience
  • Proven experience acting as a Lead Technician or Crew Lead
  • Strong Cat6 and fiber termination and testing skills
  • Experience with paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and site maps
  • Comfortable working at height and in large warehouse environments
  • Ability to lead crews of 2-4 technicians while remaining hands-on
  • Strong communication skills with Foremen and Project Managers
  • Proficient with smartphones, email, and basic spreadsheets
  • Basic telecommunications tools, PPE, and reliable transportation
  • Valid driver's license with clean driving record
  • Willingness to travel extensively and work 50-60 hour weeks
Key Responsibilities May Include:
  • Serve as the primary working lead for small crews on large warehouse and distribution center projects
  • Lead and support crews of 2-4 technicians, providing daily task direction and technical guidance
  • Remain fully hands-on with Cat6, Cat6A, and fiber (single-mode & multi-mode) installations
  • Perform and oversee paging, wireless/AP cabling, CCTV, and access control cabling
  • Coordinate daily work plans with the Foreman
  • Operate boom and scissor lifts (40+ ft work)
  • Read prints, plan cable pathways, and support MDF/IDF buildouts
  • Install cable support systems including J-hooks, ladder rack, innerduct, and tray
  • Ensure cabling is neatly dressed, labeled, and installed per standards
  • Assist with material staging and jobsite organization
  • Troubleshoot cabling and system issues
  • Provide daily progress updates to the Foreman
  • Enforce safety and quality standards within assigned work areas
$24 - $30 an hour
Pay is based on experience and qualifications. Bonus opportunities are available.
