Job description

Position Overview

Mountain Capital Partners is seeking a full-time AI Engineer to join our internal technology team in Durango, Colorado. The AI Engineer will design, build, and maintain internal software applications with a focus on artificial intelligence and data-driven tools. This role will own production systems end to end, including the architecture, development, deployment, and ongoing support of tools used across the organization.

This is a hybrid or on-site position based in Durango, Colorado. Housing is not provided. The successful candidate will be responsible for relocating to the Durango area if not already local.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and maintain internal applications that support operations across the organization, including natural language query interfaces, automated reporting tools, and workflow automation.
  • Build and maintain data pipelines and integrations between business systems, including Paycom, Voya, point of sale platforms, and the corporate data warehouse.
  • Design, build, and maintain analytics dashboards and operational tools for use by Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, and resort operations teams.
  • Contribute to architecture and technology selection decisions regarding the use of artificial intelligence across the company.
  • Mentor the summer intern and future members of the technology team as the team grows.
 Required Qualifications
  • Minimum of three years of professional software engineering experience in a production environment.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with current AI-assisted software development tools.
  • Public examples of completed software projects available for review.
  • Full stack software development experience, including backend development in Python or Node.js, frontend development in React or a similar framework, and strong SQL skills.
  • Experience building and maintaining data pipelines, APIs, and integrations with third-party business systems.
  • Strong written and verbal English communication skills. The position involves daily interaction with non-technical staff and company leadership.
  • Authorization to work in the United States without current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience deploying large language model applications, including retrieval-augmented generation, agent-based systems, or function calling, in a production environment.
  • Background in analytics, business intelligence, or internal tools development at a small or growing company.
  • Prior experience working on a small team with limited process overhead.
  • Skiing or Snowboarding Experience.
