D.R. Horton, Inc. is currently looking for a Compensation Analyst to help build the compensation function to be a proactive business partner and resource. The ideal candidate will evaluate roles, conduct compensation benchmarking, and provide guidance on salary structures and pay ranges. This position will also support the maintenance of accurate, well-defined job descriptions that reflect role responsibilities and organizational needs. This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional with a background in compensation analysis who is looking to make a meaningful impact by shaping compensation practices and serving as a trusted advisor to the business.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
  • Conduct compensation research and analysis to develop thoughtful, data-driven recommendations
  • Provide regular reporting and insights to field leadership on compensation trends and key metrics
  • Benchmark jobs against the market to help ensure roles are positioned competitively and advise leaders on any gaps or opportunities
  • Support the Annual Merit Increase process by preparing reports and importing approved increases into PeopleSoft
  • Conduct minimum wage audits to help ensure compliance with state, county, and city wage requirements
  • Research special compensation programs and incentive plans that support organizational priorities and business goals
  • Analyze compensation trends and package competitiveness to support retention and attract top talent
  • Review new and revised job descriptions to determine essential functions, minimum qualifications, FLSA status, and appropriate salary ranges
  • Prepare and maintain job descriptions across the organization, ensuring they accurately reflect responsibilities and current business needs
  • Participate in salary surveys and evaluate results to understand the organization's position in the market
  • Build and maintain a strong understanding of the company's structure and roles across the organization
  • Stay current on compensation trends and regulatory requirements, including FLSA and state wage and hour laws
  • Conduct all business in a professional and ethical manner that supports the company, its customers, and its reputation
  • Maintain regular, reliable attendance and contribute as a dependable member of the team

Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
  • Three to five years of related experience required; prior experience in a corporate HR department or the construction or mortgage industry preferred
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field from a four-year college or university
  • Experience with Payscale/Payfactors, CompAnalyst, or other compensation tools preferred
  • Prior involvement in a Job Architecture project preferred
  • Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently to balance competing deadlines
  • Ability to handle confidential and sensitive information with discretion
  • Understand Internal Audit requirement with regards to compensation changes
  • Advanced Excel skills
  • Possess exceptional interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to focus under pressure and comfortable meeting tight deadlines with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
