Job description

Main duties
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Reviews purchase orders for quality requirements
  • Create first article inspections and in-process inspection reports
  • Create Certificates of Compliance
  • Perform all and any duties assigned by the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Operates inspection equipment in the QC department
  • Supervise the inspection group in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Keep product flowing through the QC department in the absence of the Quality Assurance Manager
  • Program CMM and other automated inspection equipment
  • Perform PPAP's as required by customers
  • Facilitate the customer returns process including any rework needs
  • Coordinate source inspection per customer requirements
  • Inspect product as needed to assist with product flow and capacity issues
  • Coordinate gauge calibration program

Secondary Responsibilities:
  • Create inspection process details
  • Create inspection process details

  • Train inspection personnel
  • Create quality reporting package for monthly review

  • Has the ability to stop the manufacturing process if a problem is detected

Requested Knowledge, Competencies and Abilities:
  • MS Office suite proficiency, primarily Excel and Outlook
  • Familiar with all inspection tools such as Calipers, Height gages, specialized computerized test equipment etc.
  • Can perform full inspections of products
  • Blueprint reading with GD&T experience
  • Ability to perform electrical tests a plus
  • Has the ability to learn new technology quickly
  • High School Diploma
  • 5-10 years working in quality field
