Compensation Data Analytics information

What is compensation data analytics?

Compensation data analytics is the process of collecting, analyzing, and interpreting data related to employee compensation, such as salaries, bonuses, and benefits. This field helps organizations make informed decisions about pay structures, ensure competitive and equitable compensation, and comply with legal requirements. By leveraging data analytics, companies can identify trends, address pay disparities, and optimize their compensation strategies to attract and retain top talent.

How does a Compensation Data Analytics professional typically collaborate with HR and business leaders to inform pay decisions?

Compensation Data Analytics professionals work closely with HR teams and business leaders by providing data-driven insights that guide salary structures, incentive plans, and pay equity initiatives. They interpret data from salary surveys, internal pay records, and market trends, translating complex analyses into actionable recommendations. Regular meetings and presentations are common, ensuring that stakeholders understand compensation trends and can make informed decisions that support organizational goals. Effective communication and collaboration are key, as these professionals often bridge the gap between technical analytics and strategic HR planning.

What are the key skills and qualifications needed to thrive as a Compensation Data Analytics professional, and why are they important?

To thrive as a Compensation Data Analytics professional, you need strong analytical skills, a solid understanding of compensation structures, and a degree in fields like HR, finance, or statistics. Familiarity with HR information systems (HRIS), data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI, and proficiency in Excel or statistical software such as R or Python are commonly required. Attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and effective communication skills help you translate complex data into actionable insights for stakeholders. These skills ensure accurate, data-driven compensation strategies that support organizational goals and fair employee practices.

Reporting functionally to the R&D Technical Director, this role ensures that formulations, raw materials, and finished products meet BDC’s rigorous quality and compliance standards. Operationally, the Quality Control Supervisor works closely with the Production & Process Improvement Manager to integrate quality control into daily manufacturing operations and continuous improvement initiatives.

The ideal candidate is analytical, hands-on, and detail-oriented — a quality professional who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Assurance & Control

  • Oversee and perform testing on incoming raw materials, in-process batches, and finished goods to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Review and verify certificates of analysis, safety data sheets, and production batch records.
  • Maintain and organize all QC test results, retain samples, and documentation in compliance with ISO 9001 standards.
  • Conduct process audits, inspections, and sampling to identify nonconformances or process drift.
  • Support investigations of customer complaints, deviations, or product failures; coordinate corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
  • Partner with Production to implement in-process quality checks and operator training to ensure quality is controlled at the source.

Process Improvement & Compliance

  • Collaborate with the Production & Process Improvement Manager to enhance quality at every stage of manufacturing.
  • Participate in 5S and ISO 9001 initiatives, ensuring documentation and inspection protocols align with system standards.
  • Develop and improve SOPs, work instructions, and quality inspection forms.
  • Lead root cause analysis and process verification activities to prevent reoccurrence of quality issues.
  • Contribute to ERP data accuracy by verifying product quality data entries and documentation.
  • Support quality-related projects for new product scale-up or process validation in collaboration with the R&D Technical Director.

Team Leadership & Training

  • Train production operators, warehouse personnel, and new hires on quality control procedures and product standards.
  • Foster a culture of quality ownership and continuous improvement across production teams.
  • Serve as the daily point of contact for quality-related questions on the production floor.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Quality, or related technical field preferred; equivalent experience considered.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of quality experience in manufacturing or chemical production.
  • Working knowledge of ISO 9001, GMP, and 5S/Lean Manufacturing principles.
  • Strong analytical, testing, and documentation skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint); ERP experience preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving, organization, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and ability to influence across departments.

BDC Core Values Fit:

We are looking for someone who:

  • Demonstrates Excellence through precision, consistency, and continuous improvement.
  • Shows Tenacity and Resourcefulness when troubleshooting and finding root causes.
  • Communicates with Integrity, Honesty, and Respect across all departments.
  • Is Humble and Team-Oriented, collaborating to improve the overall customer experience.
  • Promotes a Safe and Fun Work Environment, modeling quality and care in every action.

Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach for extended periods.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs occasionally.
  • Exposure to chemicals, fumes, and moving machinery in a production environment.
  • PPE (gloves, eyewear, footwear) required.

  • Salary based on experience
  • Retirement plan with company match
  • Generous PTO and holidays
