Job description

 

This is a hybrid position based at our corporate office in Brentwood, TN, with on-site work required Monday through Wednesday.

Responsibilities

Financial strategy and leadership

  • Provide executive oversight of financial strategy and performance across a multi-site physician practice platform.
  • Serve as a strategic partner to executive, operational, and physician leadership to drive sustainable growth and profitability.
  • Lead long-range financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting for physician practices, including provider ramp models and capacity planning.

Physician practice performance and analytics

  • Oversee development and standardization of physician practice financial reporting, dashboards, KPIs, and benchmarking tools.
  • Monitor and optimize key performance drivers, including provider productivity (wRVUs), collections per wRVU, payer mix, staffing ratios, and expense per encounter.
  • Act as executive sponsor for physician practice data and analytics capabilities, including EHR-based productivity reporting and advanced financial analytics.

Provider compensation and compliance

  • Lead the design, modeling, and enhancement of provider compensation plans.
  • Ensure compensation structures align with organizational strategy, market competitiveness, and regulatory requirements (Stark Law, Anti-Kickback Statute).
  • Partner with compliance and legal teams to maintain adherence to applicable healthcare regulations.

Budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting

  • Provide executive oversight of budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance management.
  • Ensure integrity and consistency of financial reporting systems and processes, including General Ledger and financial consolidation tools (e.g., OneStream).
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, SOX, and internal controls.

Transactions, growth, and integration

  • Lead financial diligence and transaction support for physician practice acquisitions, joint ventures, and partnerships.
  • Support valuation analysis, quality of earnings assessments, and synergy identification.
  • Partner cross-functionally with operations, revenue cycle, compliance, legal, and corporate development teams to support integration and achievement of financial targets.

Operational excellence and scalability

  • Establish and drive best practices for financial operations, standardization, automation, and scalability across a growing physician practice platform.
  • Support operational efficiency initiatives across scheduling, staffing models, throughput, and clinical workflows.

Leadership and talent development

  • Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing finance team.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Serve as primary liaison with executive leadership, auditors, and external stakeholders on physician practice financial performance.

Education and experience requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field required.
  • MBA, CPA, or other advanced certification strongly preferred.
  • 7–10+ years of progressive healthcare finance experience.
  • Significant experience supporting physician practices, multi-site medical groups, or ambulatory platforms.
  • Demonstrated senior leadership experience within healthcare services organizations.
  • Extensive experience with physician practice acquisitions, financial diligence, and post-acquisition integration.
  • Proven experience leading and developing high-performing teams.

Knowledge and skills

  • Deep expertise in physician practice financial drivers, including provider productivity, compensation models, revenue cycle performance, and payer dynamics.
  • Executive-level financial acumen with the ability to translate complex data into actionable insights.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling, forecasting, and analytics using large datasets (EHR, data warehouse, Excel).
  • Strong understanding of regulatory frameworks impacting physician compensation and financial relationships.
  • Ability to lead large-scale, multi-site initiatives in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with OneStream, ERP platforms, and practice management/EHR systems preferred.
