POSITION SCOPE AND ORGANIZATIONAL IMPACT
The Compensation Analyst provides enterprise-wide support for compensation programs, operations, administration, and analytics. This role requires strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into actionable recommendations. This role is responsible for maintaining accurate and reliable compensation data, supporting the effective administration and execution of compensation programs, and delivering insights that promote fair, competitive, and equitable pay practices aligned with Moss' compensation philosophy.
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Support the annual compensation planning process, including merit increases, promotions, bonuses, and incentive programs, ensuring accurate and timely execution in alignment with compensation best practices and business objectives
  • Conduct job evaluations and provide guidance on job descriptions, job leveling, classification, and appropriate pay-grade assignments
  • Create compensation reports, dashboards, metrics, data models, and other analytical insights to support market benchmarking, job leveling, grading, compensation structures, and evolving business needs
  • Participate in compensation and salary surveys, including validating, benchmarking, analyzing, and interpreting survey data to support competitive pay practices
  • Analyze external market compensation data and internal pay practices to support competitive, consistent, and equitable compensation structures
  • Review and complete compensation requests for new position creation, internal equity review, market competitiveness, budget alignment, and policy compliance
  • Create and maintain compensation documentation, including standard operating procedures, plan documents, executive presentations, QRGs, FAQs, and training materials
  • Maintain compensation data in HR systems and ensure data integrity, accuracy, and confidentiality
  • Monitor compensation-related legislation and support compliance with applicable federal, state, and local pay regulations
  • Partner with HR Business Partners and leaders to provide guidance on compensation policies, practices, and processes
  • Identify opportunities to improve compensation processes, reporting, and employee experience through data-driven solutions
  • Collaborate with the Compensation Specialist, Solar, to ensure alignment between enterprise frameworks and Solar-specific needs
  • Conduct internal equity reviews and provide guidance on pay decisions and job leveling across business units

EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, or a related field; equivalent relevant experience may be considered. CCP certification preferred
  • 2+ years of experience in compensation, total rewards, HR analytics, finance, or a related analytical role in a Workday-enabled environment
  • Experience working with compensation surveys, salary benchmarking, job evaluation, and pay structures
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to translate complex data into actionable, practical recommendations
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, charts, and data analysis expertise
  • Strong knowledge of compensation principles, market pricing, pay equity, and applicable wage-and-hour regulations
  • Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills, with the ability to handle confidential information with discretion
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to clearly explain compensation concepts to audiences at all levels in the organization
  • Ability to build trusted relationships and collaborate effectively across departments and teams
  • Construction or energy industry experience preferred but not required
  • Perform other responsibilities and duties as assigned in support of organizational and business needs
