Position Overview

Work Environment

This position is structured as a remote role, allowing you to deliver counseling services from your home office or preferred location while maintaining a flexible schedule. Key Responsibilities

• Establish and maintain a trusting and positive therapeutic relationship with clients to foster an environment conducive to healing and growth.
• Conduct thorough assessments to diagnose mental health disorders and create tailored treatment plans reflecting the specific needs and circumstances of each patient.
• Provide regular counseling sessions for individuals, couples, and families, utilizing therapeutic modalities suited to the client’s goals and needs such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) or Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT).
• Regularly review and adjust treatment plans based on patient progress and feedback, ensuring that clients have the most effective strategies for their mental health challenges.
• Conduct ongoing assessments and evaluations, utilizing standardized tools and client self-reports to measure improvement and effectiveness of treatment.
• Coordinate with other healthcare professionals and specialists when necessary to ensure comprehensive care for patients, making appropriate referrals for additional services.
• Participate in regular team meetings and case conferences to discuss client progress and treatment methodologies, fostering a collaborative team approach.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist at Compass Professional Health Care, you will work with a diverse range of clients, including individuals grappling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, and trauma. Your role will also include counseling multi-faceted family dynamics, addressing challenges that impact family functioning and individual wellbeing. You will utilize a family-systems approach, recognizing that client issues often exist within broader relational contexts, and work to promote healthier family systems.

Qualifications

• A valid and current license as a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT).
• A master’s or doctoral degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, or a closely related field.
• Demonstrated expertise in mental health treatment modalities and approaches.
• Strong therapeutic skills with a focus on motivational interviewing and client empowerment strategies.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.

Preferred Experience

• Experience in addiction counseling or a background in treating co-occurring disorders is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with evidence-based practices for treating mental health disorders.
• Previous experience working remotely or in teletherapy is advantageous due to the nature of this role.
