Controller (Small Company)

Role Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Controller to oversee the financial operations of a multi-entity farming & processing company. The ideal candidate will manage accounting functions, ensure accurate financial reporting, and support strategic decision-making to drive business success.

Key Responsibilities:
- Manage all accounting activities including general ledger, accounts payable/receivable, grower settlements, grower accounting and month-end close utilizing Famous Software
- Prepare timely and accurate financial statements and reports for management and external stakeholders
- Develop and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets and ensure compliance
- Coordinate budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management processes
- Oversee tax filings and liaise with external auditors and tax advisors
- Analyze financial data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement
- Support leadership with financial insights and strategic planning initiatives

Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA or CMA preferred
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience, including a minimum of two years in Farming
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards
- Proficiency with accounting software (Famous) and Excel
- Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
- Experience in a small business environment is highly desirable
