The Opportunity

In this role, as a National Conveyance Lead you will have the opportunity to:?

-?? ?Set thestrategy and raise the visibility of Black & Veatch'sConveyancebusinesswithinternal andexternal clients through meetings, technical presentations,conferences, pursuits,projectsand workshops.

-?? ?Serve as aNationalConveyance Leadresponsible fordevelopmentof new business, supporting project work and building/developingteamsto achieve our business growthand executiongoals.

Key Responsibilities

  • ?Be responsible for annual business planning and overall strategic direction to achieve new business growth and earned revenue targets, while effectively managing our risks and establishing a business reputation as a firm that exceeds expectations and consistently adds value to the work we do.

  • Creating a brand around our service offering and raising our visibility in the marketplace with internal clients including Client Directors and Project Managers. ?Conveyance Lead also works to raise the visibility of the practice with external clients through active participation in professional meetings; technical presentations, workshops, and brown bag presentations; and meetings with clients and potential clients.

  • ?Coordinates with other Civil Works Sub-Portfolio Leads to achieve our business growth and develops a team of supporting staff.

  • Defines resource gaps within the Conveyance business, P&L Centers, and Operations and takes a significant role in recruiting new talent to the firm to fill identified gaps.

  • Maintains frequent and consistent communication with client-facing resources within Black & Veatch to understand market opportunity. ?

  • The Conveyance Lead takes a significant role in new business development working collaboratively with Client Directors and Project Managers on strategies and tactics to improve capture on given opportunities.

  • The Conveyance Lead supports teaming discussions and pre-positioning activities associated with a given opportunity.

  • During the proposal phase of a pursuit, the Conveyance Lead may take an active role in establishing the organizational structure, identifying the qualifications and experience of the firm and key resources, developing the technical work approach, and messaging.

  • This individual may also take an active role in preparations for oral interviews on selected pursuits, including coaching of the team and support with delivery and messaging.

  • For selected high-profile pursuits, the Conveyance Lead may be sold into a key position as Project Director, Project Manager or similar.

  • Maintains keen awareness of the work the conveyance group has under contract and maintains responsibility for profitability on projects and the related risks we carry as a business.?

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience

  • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • ?Strong market knowledge across the United States in pipelines and pump stations.

  • Visible leadership in related professional societies.

  • Experience as a subject matter expert in some aspect of pipeline and pump station design or their appurtenances.

  • Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams in the pursuit or execution phases of a project or program.

  • Experience in recruiting top talent to our organization and to further develop and mentor others.

  • Prefer that required bachelor's degree is in Engineering. Prior project management or project execution experience, preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Demands

Hybridor flexible work options may be offered after the first 90 days of employment based upon manager discretion, job performance and work assignments. Must be willing to travel up to 30% of the time.
