Job description

Job Title: Birthday Support Associate
Pay Rate: $14.50/hr

Pay Rate: $14.50/hr
Specific Duties & Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Providing the best possible experience for all visitors via the phone and in person.
  • Day of event point of contact between client and/or internal departments for birthday parties.
  • Meet clients, review plan for the day, and advise necessary departments of any changes.
  • Ensure details from the Banquet Event Order are fulfilled, including food delivery and room setup/teardown.
  • Ensure animal encounters are confirmed with the Wild Encounters team for the day.
  • Set signage in zoo guiding guests to their party.
  • Be available to assist throughout the birthday party with any needs.
  • Becoming familiar with all levels of birthday packages to provide the most tailored and beneficial information to our visitors and maximize their zoo visit(s).
  • Create signage for birthdays taking place for the upcoming week.
  • Sunday and/or Saturday daytime availability is required.

Key Details for this position:
  • Employment is considered seasonal/non-benefited; Variable hours can be between 6 - 14 hours per week, not to exceed 30 hours per week.
  • Candidates with daytime weekend availability are required. Hours an employee receives depend on availability and can vary with the season.
  • To be considered, candidate must be at least 18 years of age or older.
  • Previous Call Center and/or Customer Service experience highly preferred.
  • Proficiency in use of Microsoft Suite preferred.
  • Display excellent customer service skills that support the Zoo's INSPIRED visitor experience philosophy.
  • Employment is contingent upon passing a post-offer, pre-employment drug screen and background check.
  • Other administrative and/or creative duties as assigned.
  • Must be able to lift 30lbs.

Hours and Party Times:
  • Typically, there are two parties per day on Saturdays and Sundays. Timing may vary depending on the day, but shifts will usually be about 6 hours long with a 30-minute break in the middle.
  • The number of parties per day may vary depending on booking.
  • Shifts can be split if needed.
  • Weekend availability required.
