JOB TITLE: Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator

REPORTS TO: Chief Experience Officer

JOB SUMMARY:

The Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator supports the planning, coordination, and implementation of marketing, communications, and community outreach initiatives that enhance Nebraska Hematology-Oncology's (NHO) brand and strengthen relationships with patients, providers, employees, and the community. Working under the direction of the Chief Experience Officer, this position assists with social media, website content, graphic design, community events, marketing campaigns, internal communications, and promotional materials while helping ensure consistent branding across the organization.

The Marketing & Community Relations Coordinator serves as a creative, organized, and collaborative team member who helps execute marketing initiatives, coordinates projects with internal departments and external vendors, and supports community engagement efforts that advance the organization's mission and strategic objectives.

This is a full-time, on-site position.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Marketing & Communications

  • Assist in developing and implementing marketing and communication initiatives that support organizational goals and clinic growth.
  • Create brochures, flyers, advertisements, newsletters, presentations, signage, and other print and digital marketing materials.
  • Assist with marketing campaigns promoting physicians, services, clinical trials, patient education, recruitment, and community programs.
  • Ensure marketing materials adhere to established NHO brand standards and messaging.
  • Draft and edit newsletters, articles, patient communications, internal announcements, and press releases.

Social Media & Digital Marketing

  • Coordinate day-to-day management of the organization's social media platforms, including content scheduling, posting, and engagement monitoring.
  • Create graphics, short-form videos, and other digital content for social media and marketing campaigns.
  • Monitor basic social media performance metrics and assist in preparing engagement reports.
  • Stay current on social media trends and recommend new content ideas.

Website Management

  • Maintain website content to ensure information is timely, accurate, and consistent.
  • Coordinate website updates with external vendors and internal departments as needed.
  • Assist in maintaining online provider profiles, service pages, and event information.

Graphic Design & Creative Services

  • Design print and digital marketing materials that support organizational initiatives.
  • Develop and maintain branded templates for presentations, newsletters, and promotional materials.
  • Ensure all creative materials align with NHO's established brand standards.

Photography & Video Coordination

  • Coordinate photography and videography projects with external creative partners.
  • Assist in planning production schedules and coordinating physicians, staff, patients (with appropriate consent), and locations for photo and video sessions.
  • Organize and maintain digital photography and video assets.
  • Capture and edit basic photos and short-form videos using mobile devices and standard editing software for social media and internal communications.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to utilize photography and video assets across marketing channels.

Community Relations

  • Assist with coordinating community outreach activities, sponsorships, health fairs, educational seminars, and organizational events.
  • Help maintain relationships with community organizations, nonprofits, businesses, and healthcare partners.
  • Represent NHO at community events and outreach activities as assigned.
  • Assist in coordinating charitable giving and community engagement initiatives.
  • Recruit, schedule, and coordinate employee volunteers for community events and outreach activities.

Event Planning

  • Assist in planning, promoting, and coordinating community events, educational programs, employee recognition activities, physician recruitment events, and fundraising initiatives.
  • Coordinate event logistics, promotional materials, registration, vendors, and post-event follow-up.

Analytics & Reporting

  • Compile marketing performance data, including website traffic, social media engagement, and email campaign metrics.
  • Assist in preparing reports and tracking the effectiveness of marketing initiatives.

Collaboration

  • Collaborate with physicians, leadership, and departmental teams to support marketing and community relations initiatives.
  • Coordinate projects with external vendors, printers, photographers, videographers, and advertising partners.
  • Participate in committee meetings and special projects as assigned.
  • Perform other duties consistent with the responsibilities of the position.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, Graphic Design, or a related field preferred.

Experience

  • One to three years of experience in marketing, communications, public relations, or a related field preferred.
  • Recent graduates with relevant internships, portfolios, or demonstrated experience are encouraged to apply.
  • Healthcare marketing experience is preferred but not required.
  • Experience managing multiple projects and meeting deadlines.
  • Experience using social media platforms and graphic design software.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong graphic design and visual communication abilities.
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Cloud (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, Premiere Pro) and Canva.
  • Experience updating websites using content management systems.
  • Knowledge of social media platforms and digital marketing best practices.
  • Basic photography and video editing skills.
  • Familiarity with Google Analytics, Google Business Profile, and email marketing platforms is preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple projects and meet deadlines.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to sit or stand for extended periods.

  • Ability to lift and transport marketing materials and event supplies up to 25 pounds.
  • Ability to operate standard office equipment and basic photography/video equipment.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This position is performed primarily in an office and clinical environment with regular attendance at community events, outreach activities, and organizational functions. Occasional evening or weekend work may be required to support community events, educational programs, or organizational initiatives.
