Job description

Senior Plant Manager

This position is for our Omnium division. Omnium is your loyal partner in the manufacturing of crop protection, adjuvant and plant nutrition products. Our team adheres to stringent safety protocols and environmental stewardship standards.

The Senior Plant Manager is responsible for the safe and efficient performance of all aspects of plant operations. This position will provide a proactive problem-solving approach and must think strategically while contributing to the efficient, systematic and profitable operation. Will provide overall leadership, support and direction to their team. Is responsible for providing clear direction and development guidance to their direct reports. Will implement strategies to reduce cost and improve efficiencies, while maintaining quality in an environment that supports continuous improvement. Must maintain strong relations with employees, the community and customers. The qualified candidate will need to be located in Hampton, IA.

Responsibilities
  • 20% Provide a safe and healthy work environment for all employees in an environmentally sound manner by ensuring the execution of pertinent regulations, fair enforcement of the policies and procedures and initiating safety, health and environmental audits of the workplace. Provide oversight to the safety facility audits, safety meetings and the safety committee. Ensure all regulatory standards are maintained. Serve as focal point for community relations.
  • 35% Provides leadership and business knowledge to support the company’s objectives. Is responsible for the profit and loss statement for the facility. Monitor operations of the facility to ensure business profitability. Take appropriate actions to maintain the facility equipment. Create a learning environment and proactively lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • 25% Build and maintain strong business relationships that provide growth within the company. Maintain excellent customer service and improve work strategies that strengthen our business expertise. Develop and maintain competitive pricing strategies to maximize profits while enticing new business.
  • 20% Lead all departments at the plant in supporting business objectives. Act as the main focal point for HR/employee affairs to support business objectives, create a positive work environment and maintain excellent employee relationships. Encourage open communications by providing necessary information through dialogue and mentoring processes. Participate in additional duties/roles and projects that enhances job position and expertise.
Required Education/Experience

Bachelors Degree and 10+ years manufacturing leadership experience. Ability to interpret financial accounting information. Must have excellent communication and negotiating skills. Must have proficient skills with spread sheets, email and Microsoft Office programs. Familiarity with training in emergency response and incident commander responsibilities. Must be knowledgeable with general industry OSHA and EPA regulations. Knowledge in process safety management, risk management and FIFRA regulations is desirable.

Preferred Education/Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business, Chemistry, or Engineering 10+ years chemical leadership experience.

Salary Range

$142,160 - $213,240In most cases, candidates offered employment can expect to be hired at a pay rate near the middle of our salary ranges.
