Job description


Join a stable, human services agency that has been in business for over 100 years! Lifesteps is currently seeking a full-time Public Relations Representative for the Butler, PA office.

The Public Relations Representative plays an important role in fundraising and community relations by working to strengthen donor relationships and achieve the organization's fundraising goals.

The Public Relations Rep (known at Lifesteps as a Community Relations Rep) will assist with coordinating special events and fundraisers, including planning, logistics, and outreach to current and prospect donors to secure funds to support the agency. The position also works to maintain the donor files through a database, generate reports, create and process donation acknowledgements and thank you letters, and is involved in media engagement.

In addition, the PR Representative will help share Lifesteps mission by representing the agency at events and engage staff and donors. This includes assisting with volunteer engagement, expo / fair coordination, and agency photography and history, as needed.

Position Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED with 2 years of sales, non-profit development, communications, fundraising, or public relations experience
  • Excellent verbal communication and written communication, including editing and proofreading
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office suite
  • Current and valid Drivers License and automobile insurance
  • Ability to travel using own vehicle - mileage reimbursement possible

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Associate Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a similar field
  • Bachelor's Degree in Public Relations, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or a similar field
