Job description

Summary:

The Communication & Public Relations Associate supports the development and execution of communication initiatives that enhance the bank’s brand, reputation, and community presence. This role coordinates community relations and events, assists with internal and external communications, creates content, and coordinates media while ensuring consistent messaging aligned with the bank’s mission and values.


Essential Functions:

Community Engagement

  • Coordinate community relations efforts, sponsorships, and events
  • Represent the bank as a brand ambassador within the community


Public Relations and Media

  • Write and distribute press releases, media advisories, and public statements
  • Coordinate media interviews, press events, and community announcements
  • Monitor media coverage and community reputation


Content and External Communications

  • Manage social media calendar and channels
  • Create compelling content for websites, social media, email campaigns, and marketing materials
  • Ensure consistent brand voice across all customer-facing channels
  • Support product launches, campaigns, and community initiatives with strategic messaging
  • Collaborate with bank-wide departments to promote services, financial education, and brand awareness


Internal Communications

  • Draft communications, announcements, and presentations
  • Support internal messaging to inform and engage employees and support organizational initiatives

Brand Management and Compliance

  • Ensure all communications are cohesive, align with the bank's core values, and maintain a consistent brand voice.
  • Ensure all communications adhere to banking regulations and compliance requirements

Required Education and Experience:

  • 1 to 3 years of relevant experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, or related field.
  • Familiarity with digital marketing and social media channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong storytelling and content development abilities.
  • Ability to translate complex financial topics into clear, engaging content for various audiences.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and/or confidentiality as required.

Work Environment:

This job operates in a professional work environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment, including computers, monitors, mouse, keyboards, phones, printers, scanners, photocopiers, filing cabinets, calculators, and fax machines. Due to the physical location of this position, phones and people conversing may make it difficult to hear at times, and therefore be easily distracting.

The employee must be able to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, including standard computer and copy paper boxes, and open and close filing cabinets and drawers.

Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:

This is a full-time position. Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5 p.m. Flexibility of schedule to meet business needs is required, including seasonal evening and weekend events.


Salary: $45,833.33 - $66,000.00


Pay Transparency:

Salaries may vary based on geographic location, market data, and individual skills, experience, and education. This role is incentive-eligible, with payment based on company, business, and/or individual performance.
