Job description

Guest Relations Associate

Performs a variety of routine and complex administrative duties in the operation of The Community & Recreation Center and is responsible for maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for members, guests and colleagues. The Guest Relations Associate works under the supervision of the Guest Relations Coordinator.

The Community & Recreation Center delivers a comprehensive range of recreation services including: fitness programs, aquatics programs (indoor and outdoor), enrichment activities, youth programs, older adult programs and more.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Answers telephone and in-person informational and reference questions and provides patron assistance with the selection of activities and programs that will positively enhance their lives
  • Receiving monies, operating a computer with point of sale and member engagement software, merchandise sales and assisting with online registration inquiries
  • Enforce rules and regulations of The Community & Recreation Center in order to maintain a safe environment for all
  • Offer assistance to new members and visitors of the center, highlighting not only recreation offerings but additional park amenities
  • Consistently pursue and implement best practices that ensure the best membership experience and program retention

Qualifications

Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Considerable knowledge of the principles and practices of computer and database systems and programs, experience with Microsoft Office and Activenet a plus.
  • Ability to learn the point of sale software and proper money handling procedures
  • Skill in operation of listed tools and equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and utilize a variety of records.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing in the English language.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with patrons, colleagues, the Township, and the general public.

Education and Experience

  • Experience showing strong organizational and communication skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office and computer skills.

  • Membership automation system; personal computer including word processing and database management software; copy and fax machines; 2-way radio, overhead speaker system, calculator; phone.
