ChildNet, Inc. is a private, not-for-profit community-based care (CBC) agency servicing Broward and Palm Beach County. We are contracted with the State of Florida, Department of Children and Families, to provide case management support to abused, abandoned, and neglected children. ChildNet is nationally accredited by the Council on Accreditation (COA) and employs over 600 staff at its location in Ft Lauderdale and West Palm Beach, Florida.

Job Summary: Responsible for managing positive relationships with community members, nonprofit organizations, and fellow employees surrounding an organization. Must be able to plan, organize and manage activities to help the organization achieve its public relations goal.

  • Assist in preparing a variety of publicity materials such as speeches and media content
  • Build long-lasting positive relationships with members of the community clients and businesses
  • Manage community outreach strategies, events, and activities to promoteChildNet
  • Research, develop, manage, and track grant funding opportunitiesto support programmatic and service needs; oversee compliance of grantors requests.
  • Oversee the development of promotional materials for ChildNet
  • Coordinate community relations and oversee communication with community members through socialmedia
  • Collaborate closely with ChildNet’s marketing and public relations agency vendor to ensure timely social media presence and other marketing materials
  • Collaborate with leadership and other important parties to maintain corporate partnerships
  • Write and monitor the distribution of publicity material to promote ChildNet as well as individuals or groups within the company
  • Create fundraising proposals for individual and corporate donors. Steward relationships with potential and current donors
  • Represent ChildNet at community events and establish positive relationships with other organizations
  • Provide oversight of, and collaboration with, ChildNet’s Community Relations Coordinator
SKILLS / REQUIREMENTS:Years of Experience:
  • 3 years ofpublic relations and/orfundraising experience, preferably within a non-profit organization
  • 2 years working with C-Suiteexecutives
Education/Licenses/Certifications:
  • Bachelor’s
    Degree in Communications, Telecommunications, Marketing, Public Relations or a related field.
  • Master’s Degree preferred.
AbilitiesRequired:
  • Ability to make complex decisions and balance the needs of stakeholders involved
  • Ability to be sensitive to the service population’s cultural and socioeconomic characteristics
  • Ability to manage execution and direct the work of others towards task completion
