Description:

Director of Community Engagement

The Grove Frisco | Frisco, TX

$80,000–$90,000 + Comprehensive Benefits + 16 Paid Holidays

Hiring range based on experience, skills, and qualifications.

Collaboration. Authenticity. Connection. Balance.

At Cohere, we believe community is the most valuable amenity. We do more than manage communities—we help create places where people connect, belong, and thrive. By partnering with some of the nation’s most innovative master-planned communities, we create places residents are proud to call home and where meaningful relationships flourish.

We’re looking for a Director of Community Engagement to join our team at The Grove Frisco, an award-winning, 735+ acre master-planned community designed around connection, recreation, wellness, and belonging. With thoughtfully designed homes, abundant green space, parks, trails, resort-style amenities, and a robust calendar of resident events and activities, The Grove Frisco is a place where community life is intentionally cultivated.

In this role, you’ll lead the community’s engagement and communications strategy, helping bring The Grove Frisco’s vision to life through meaningful resident experiences, strong relationships, thoughtful planning, and a highly connected Community Life team.

You’ll also serve as a trusted partner to residents, community leaders, developer partners, and the Board while creating opportunities that strengthen connection throughout the community.

This is an opportunity to shape how residents experience one of North Texas’s most dynamic master-planned communities while leading a team and building programs, partnerships, and systems designed for long-term community impact.

If you’re a relational leader who can pair big-picture vision with strong organization, thoughtful execution, and genuine enthusiasm for bringing people together, we’d love to meet you.

Why People Choose Cohere

The best communities are built by people who feel supported, valued, and empowered to do their best work. That’s why we invest in benefits, time away, and professional growth that help our team members thrive both personally and professionally.

Highlights include:

  • Employer-paid dental coverage
  • Vision coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plan
  • Employer-paid Life Insurance, AD&D, and Long-Term Disability coverage
  • Pet insurance options
  • Employee Assistance Program with mental health, financial, legal, and family support resources
  • Travel assistance and identity theft protection
  • Complimentary will preparation services
  • Generous paid time off
  • 16 paid holidays each year, including a Birthday Day and Volunteer Day, in addition to PTO
  • Professional development and growth opportunities

What You’ll Do

  • Develop and execute engagement and communications strategies that strengthen connection across The Grove Frisco.
  • Create meaningful opportunities for residents, neighbors, partners, and stakeholders to connect through programs, events, volunteerism, clubs, committees, and other community-building initiatives.
  • Use resident feedback, surveys, and community data to help shape programming and engagement efforts.
  • Build relationships with resident leaders and volunteers and create opportunities for them to play an active role in community life.
Lead the Team & Drive Execution
  • Lead and develop the onsite Community Life team responsible for engagement programs and communications.
  • Establish clear priorities, systems, and plans that support consistent, high-quality execution.

  • Bring strong organization, follow-through, and attention to detail while managing multiple priorities and initiatives.
Build Strong Relationships & Partnerships
  • Serve as a trusted partner to the Executive Director, developer partners, Board of Directors, residents, and other key stakeholders.
  • Maintain open communication with the Board and provide professional guidance, updates, and reporting on matters affecting the community.
  • Cultivate relationships with local government, school districts, civic and social groups, nonprofit organizations, arts and cultural organizations, and other community partners.
  • Collaborate across Cohere and with the broader Texas engagement team to share resources, ideas, and best practices.
Manage Budgets, Programs & Resources
  • Develop and manage annual budgets that support approved community goals and programming priorities.
  • Monitor expenses and financial performance and identify thoughtful ways to maximize resources.
  • Identify and manage vendors supporting community programs and events, including pricing, contracts, insurance, and required documentation.
  • Coordinate permits, licensing, and other requirements to help ensure community activities comply with applicable regulations.

What We’re Looking For

  • 10+ years of experience in community-based organizations, nonprofit management, community operations, governance, community-building programs, or a related environment.
  • Direct experience working with and reporting to a Board of Directors.
  • 7+ years of experience supervising and leading professional staff.
