Job description

Amentum is seeking a highly motivated Senior Program Manager to support our programs in a hybrid capacity, with a primary office location in either Chantilly, Virginia or Williamsburg, Virginia. The Senior Program Manager will play a pivotal role in driving strategic growth and leading mission-critical programs within the Intelligence Community (IC). This is an opportunity to leverage extensive knowledge of the IC and established networks to identify opportunities, foster meaningful customer relationships, and position Amentum as a premier partner in delivering cutting-edge solutions. The role includes full Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibility and the ability to influence the success of programs vital to national security. An active TS/SCI clearance with polygraph, extensive IC experience, and a proven passion for business development are required.

Key Responsibilities:

Strategic Focus Areas

  • Business Development and Growth:Proactively identify, pursue, and secure key opportunities in the Intelligence Community by leveraging deep customer knowledge and relationships.
  • Customer Relationship Management:Build and sustain strong partnerships with IC customers to understand evolving needs and position Amentum as a trusted partner with innovative, mission-aligned solutions.
  • Strategic Planning:Develop and execute tailored growth strategies for IC customers, incorporating an understanding of market trends, shifting priorities, and upcoming requirements to shape future opportunities.
  • Profit and Loss Accountability:Provide financial and operational leadership for a significant business sector in the IC, ensuring continued profitability and alignment with company objectives.
  • Operational Leadership and Oversight:Lead, mentor, and manage teams to maintain high levels of operational excellence, consistently delivering on program objectives, and ensuring alignment with customer expectations.

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Oversee the operational and performance management of a large, complex business portfolio within the Intelligence Community.
  • Cultivate trusted partnerships within the IC, aligning Amentum's capabilities to customer requirements.
  • Proactively identify and propose tailored solutions for customer needs, drafting white papers and influencing Requests for Proposals (RFPs) to reflect program alignment and competitive advantage.
  • Lead strategic planning for sustainable growth in the IC sector by identifying new markets and emerging opportunities.
  • Provide guidance for proposal development teams to ensure alignment with customer needs and competitive positioning.
  • Ensure strict compliance with federal regulations, program requirements, and organizational policies.
  • Represent Amentum in a professional capacity while engaging with internal and external stakeholders, including customers, partners, and leadership teams.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (Master's degree preferred).
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification
  • ActiveTop Secret/SCI clearance with polygraphis mandatory.
  • A minimum of10 years of experience working within or directly supporting the Intelligence Community, with demonstrated credibility and a strong network of professional connections.
  • Deep understanding of IC operations, priorities, and goals-gained through direct involvement with relevant organizations.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the Federal Acquisition Regulations (FAR) and business operations related to IC contracts.
  • Proven track record of leadership with P&L accountability, operational oversight, and driving business growth.
  • Demonstrated experience in business development, including strategic customer engagement and positioning for competitive opportunities.
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and team collaboration skills, with the ability to manage cross-functional initiatives.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and other analytical tools.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Certificate in Business,
  • Experience in joint ventures, mergers, acquisitions, or similar strategic initiatives.
  • Ability to travel up to 50%, as required.

Compensation Details:
