Responsibilities

Program (COMMUNITY) MANAGER - Full-Time

Mountain Youth Academy (a UHS company) Community Manager is seeking for evening/weekend shifts to join our growing team! Come make a difference in the life of a child and love what you do!! 

Salarly will be determined based on experience and education.  Shift differentials are also part of the compensation package.

Mountain Youth Academy in Mountain City, Tennessee is centrally located near Johnson City, TN, Boone, NC, and Abingdon, VA. We are a 120-bed residential treatment facility and assist in the  evaluation, diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of behavioral health issues for our young adolescent patients.

POSITION SUMMARY:

Manages and is accountable for the overall milieu of patients on assigned community. The Community Manager is responsible for the management of the program schedule including creating, organizing, and implementing activities that support the therapeutic treatment goals meeting the standards defined in Program Fidelity and the overall Therapeutic Program.  The Community Manager acts as a member of the interdisciplinary treatment team providing continuous patient care, observation, interaction, and role modeling to patients. The Community Manager supervises and ensure that staff are following and implementing the program, unit schedules, and Mountain Youth Academy’s policies and procedures. The Community Manager must understand, practice, and support all Service Excellence Standards to foster a positive working environment.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Develops and executes evidence-based therapeutic/educational activities that are conducive to improving the functioning of patients.  Participates in collaborative planning with the ADRS, DRS, DCS, DON, Providers, and Risk/PI departments to ensure unit activities support the approved Program Fidelity and overall therapeutic program. Completes accurate and timely documentation as required for group notes, activity logs, etc.
  • Manages all aspects of and facilitates the unit activities and ensures staff always follow activity schedules and guidelines. Develops, plans, staffs, and executes program schedules, outings, and incentives. Provides guidance and supervision to the organization and cleanliness of their community.
  • Provides appropriate crisis intervention as necessary by anticipating and responding quickly to escalating behaviors, utilizing de-escalation techniques to diffuse the situation, correctly prioritizing safety concerns, following proper restraint technique guidelines, and displaying neutral emotions.
  • Train, educate and develop milieu staff to equip them with the knowledge and skills to perform their job duties/responsibilities. Serves as a role model to staff and patients in dress and demeanor. Exhibits consistently strong professional boundaries in all interactions with patients and staff.
