Job Title: Early Learning Center Preschool Classroom Assistant
Primary Role
The Preschool Classroom Assistant supports the teacher in providing a safe, nurturing, and developmentally appropriate learning environment for young children. This role assists with implementing curriculum, supervising students, interacting with students and modeling appropriate actions, supporting daily routines such as meals, hygiene, and rest time. The Assistant also greets families, communicates messages, and helps maintain accurate documentation. By combining care, supervision, and professionalism, the Preschool Classroom Assistant plays a vital role in fostering student growth and supporting the success of the preschool program.

Job Specific Responsibilities
  • Work under the direction of the classroom teacher to support implementation of the preschool curriculum and daily activities.
  • Provide assistance with toileting, hygiene, and meal service to meet students' developmental and personal care needs.
  • Actively interact with students and supervise all activities throughout the day, including outdoor play, rest time, drop-off, and pick-up.
  • Follow required health and sanitation procedures to maintain a safe and clean classroom environment.
  • Assist with data collection and assessments as directed by the teacher to monitor student growth and development.
