Job description

Community Partnerships Manager
Remote | Atlanta-Based | Contract | Project Term: September-December 2026
About NewWorld:
NewWorld is an award-winning next-generation media company operating at the intersection of culture, storytelling, and rapid response. Our stories, shows and campaigns meet audiences at the speed of culture, shining a light on the world as it is, while inspiring courage and confidence to change it. Our team combines cultural intelligence, creative storytelling and strategic intervention to build trust, shape narratives, and move people from outrage to optimism- and from optimism to action.
About the role:
NewWorld is producing a children's book for a nonprofit client and piloting a community-based book distribution model in Atlanta. We are looking for a contract Community Partnerships Manager to identify, secure, and manage relationships with anchor partner organizations -- libraries, community centers, Head Start programs, pediatric offices, and similar -- who will distribute copies directly to families at no cost.
This is a high-touch role. You are not cold-calling lists. You are opening doors through existing relationships, stewarding partners through the process, and ensuring books reach the families they were made for. The pilot runs 90 days.
  • Identify and prioritize 5-10 anchor partner organizations in the Atlanta metro area suited to direct family distribution
  • Partner with NewWorld to present and get stakeholder buy-in on selected community partners
  • Initiate and manage partner relationships from first contact through delivery and follow-up
  • Negotiate and confirm placement agreements with each partner organization
  • Coordinate bulk book delivery logistics to each partner location
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for partners throughout the pilot
  • Collect distribution feedback and impact data from partners at the close of the pilot
  • Maintain clear, organized records of partner status, placement, and distribution volume
  • Support the research team in collecting data from community partners on book distribution and reception

Qualifications & Qualities:
Successful candidates will have all of the following:
  • An existing network in Atlanta's early childhood, children's literacy, or family services ecosystem -- you can name organizations you would call this week
  • Demonstrated experience building and managing community or institutional partnerships, ideally in children's, education, or social services spaces
  • High-touch relationship style; you follow up, you problem-solve, you don't let things go quiet
  • Strong organizational skills and comfort managing multiple partner relationships simultaneously
  • Clear, professional written and verbal communication
  • Ability to work independently and deliver within a defined project timeline

Preferred additional qualifications:
Few candidates will bring all of these strengths, and none are strictly required; experience in the following areas would be an additional asset.
  • Experience working with or within nonprofit organizations
  • Familiarity with Head Start, WIC, library systems, or pediatric health networks in the Atlanta area
  • Experience in community outreach or distribution for a media, publishing, or creative project

This is a contract role. Compensation is $20,000 for the three month position. Workload is expected to average15-20 hours a week, including availability between 9am-6pm Monday-Friday. Candidates will need to be available to join a minimum of one weekly meeting and occasional additional stakeholder meetings as necessary (virtually).
Equal Opportunity Statement
Equity is at the heart of NewWorld. From the clients we partner with and vendors we engage, to the team we're building, we are committed to creating opportunities for the diverse community of talented, creative professionals who have been systematically denied opportunities across the professional communications industry. Women, people of color, LGBTI people, people of any religion or nationality and people with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Opportunities for advancement exist, and NewWorld is committed to helping all staff develop and grow.
