Job Title: Outreach Coordinator

Salary: $27 per hour

Location: Tustin, CA

Position Purpose: The Outreach Coordinator is responsible for coordinating and implementing Families Together of Orange County's community outreach and external engagement activities. This position serves as both a strategic coordinator and active community representative, building relationships with community partners, organizing outreach initiatives, participating in community events, and connecting individuals and families with healthcare services and resources. The Outreach Coordinator serves as the central point of coordination for organizational outreach activities while working collaboratively with departments across the organization to ensure a consistent and effective community presence. The position also supports Medi-Cal enrollment and renewal outreach efforts by promoting available resources, educating community members about coverage options, and assisting with enrollment activities as needed.


Core Duties and responsibilities, include but are not limited to:

  1. Coordinate and implement community outreach initiatives, health fairs, presentations, and external engagement activities.
  2. Serve as the central coordinator for organizational participation in community events and outreach opportunities.
  3. Develop and maintain relationships with community organizations, schools, businesses, faith-based organizations, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  4. Identify opportunities to expand awareness of FTOC services and strengthen community partnerships.
  5. Represent FTOC at community events, meetings, and public engagement activities.
  6. Coordinate outreach logistics, materials, schedules, and follow-up activities related to community engagement efforts.
  7. Promote FTOC services, programs, and resources through presentations, outreach campaigns, and community engagement activities.
  8. Educate community members on available healthcare services and how to access care.
  9. Support outreach efforts related to Medi-Cal enrollment, renewals, and healthcare coverage retention.
  10. Obtain and maintain Medi-Cal Enrollment Assister certification and provide enrollment assistance when needed.
  11. Connect community members with appropriate services, departments, and enrollment resources.
  12. Collaborate with internal departments to support outreach goals and community engagement priorities.
  13. Track outreach activities, referrals, partnerships, and event participation and prepare reports as needed.
  14. Support patient engagement, retention, and community awareness initiatives.
  15. Other duties assigned, within scope.

Education, Qualifications, and Experience:

  • Minimum of 6 months of experience in community outreach, community engagement, healthcare, nonprofit organizations, or public health.
  • Work hours will fluctuate dependent on organizations events and needs, hours will be set within 8 AM -8 PM.
  • Weekend availability 1-3 times a month for events( Required )
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) ( Required )
  • Experience educating or assisting community members with Medi-cal programs ( Required )
  • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
  • Public speaking and presentation experience.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple events and priorities simultaneously.
  • Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively within a team.
  • Knowledge of community resources and healthcare systems preferred.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Demonstrated cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse populations.

Work Location:

  • This role is set to work in Tustin, CA but will be within the community as well.
  • While employees may be assigned a primary site (Tustin, Garden Grove, Fountain Valley, Wellness Center, Mobile Units, Treehaven, Magnolia, Telehealth, etc.), employees may be required to temporarily fill in at another site based on organizational, staffing, community, and patient needs.
