We are currently recruiting for a Branch Manager, for our Flint Hill, Virginia Branch.

This position is full-time and candidates must be available during operating hours, currently Monday through Saturday.

Essential Functions:

  • Manages branch office operations functions.
  • Participates with Community President in the allocation of retail sales goals and the achievement of individual sales goals. Works to meet branch standards for operating loss control, tellers’ levels of experience, Bank Secrecy, and compliance with all established policies and procedures.
  • Plans and estimates the cash needed and prepares orders for currency and coin on a weekly basis.
  • Supervises and delegates duties among BSR/Tellers, assists new BSR/Tellers in training, balances vault daily, opens and closes vault daily, and assists with balancing problems.
  • Performs back-up BSR/Teller duties at a desk, opening new accounts, cashing checks, taking and verifying deposits, selling cashier’s checks and traveler’s checks.
  • Verifies and cashes U.S. Savings Bonds and processes customer loan payments in accordance with bank policies and procedures.
  • Makes overdraft and check approval decisions that comply with prevailing bank policies and are within current approval authority. Processes overdrafts and returns. Processes rejects and reports
  • Assists in the delivery of quality customer service through personal contact with customers and prospects and adherence to approved quality standards.
  • Participates in various marketing activities as required by senior management.
  • Provides input on local competition.
  • Continually seeks opportunities for bringing new business to the branch, including new deposit relationships and lending opportunities.
  • Participates in community events, activities and organizations that build awareness of and enhance the bank’s image in the community.
  • Reviews staff members for periodic and annual performance appraisals as required and recommends salary adjustments. Counsels and disciplines employees as needed. Coordinates staff training as required.
  • Oversees the coordination of communications to and from branch staff to assure high quality information flow in all directions
  • Performs monthly alarm testing and robbery response training to ensure branch staff are prepared and security procedures are followed.
  • Performs quarterly branch cash audits to ensure accuracy, compliance, and adherence to bank policies and procedures.
  • Provides and maintains a professional and business-like atmosphere within the branch.
  • Compiles information and reports about branch activities as required by management.
  • Arranges and oversees inside and outside maintenance of building and grounds, and equipment maintenance.
  • Trains and assists operations staff through staff meetings and other training sessions as needed.
  • Assists management in annual budget preparation and long-range planning for the branch.
  • Handles customer and employee complaints.
  • Responsible for hiring and terminating branch personnel in coordination with the SVP/Community President, and Human Resources Director.
  • Responsible for oversight of all Bank Secrecy Act compliance, training, and document review at the Branch.
  • Performs various other duties as may from time to time be required by the Community President.


Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, or a related field preferred; equivalent combination of education, training, and banking experience may be considered.

  • Working knowledge of deposit operations, branch controls, cash handling, customer service standards, banking products and services, and applicable banking laws and regulations.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead employees, manage multiple priorities, resolve customer and operational issues, and exercise sound judgment within established authority.
  • Strong communication, interpersonal, sales, organizational, problem-solving, and community relationship-building skills.
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and banking systems; ability to learn and use job-related software and digital banking tools.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, handle sensitive information appropriately, and represent the Bank in a professional and ethical manner.


Physical/Mental Requirements:

  • Work is generally performed in a professional branch office environment with frequent customer and employee interaction.

  • Ability to use a computer, keyboard, calculator, telephone, cash-handling equipment, and other standard office and banking equipment.

  • Ability to review documents, transactions, and system information with accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with customers, employees, management, and business partners in person, by phone, and through electronic communication.

  • Ability to occasionally lift, carry, or move items such as coin, documents, or supplies up to 20 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.
