What is a community kitchen?

A community kitchen is a shared space where individuals or groups come together to prepare, cook, and sometimes share meals. These kitchens are often organized by local organizations, non-profits, or community centers to address food insecurity, promote healthy eating, and foster social connections. Community kitchens may provide cooking classes, free or low-cost meals, and opportunities for people to learn new culinary skills while building a sense of community.

What are some common challenges faced by staff working in a community kitchen, and how can they be addressed?

Staff in community kitchens often encounter challenges such as managing limited resources, accommodating diverse dietary needs, and coordinating with volunteers from varied backgrounds.
