Nine (9) Month Position


Job Summary

Provide leadership and supervision of all aspects of the food service operation.

As an employee of the Huntington County Community School Corporation, some job duties may involve access to information/records that are considered confidential. Employees of the school corporation respect the confidentiality of the student and follow procedures to protect privacy.

Essential Job Duties

• Secure kitchen by unlocking in the morning and relocking in the evening

• Volume 175-450 students each day

• Maintains main menu with 1 hot entrée choice at lunch and breakfast

• Fruit and vegetable bar-4 times a year with education about the food items.

• Ensure all HACCP guidelines are being followed.

• Record cooler, freezer, dish room temperature logs, food production temperature logs, sanitizer solution logs, monthly food safety inspections.

• Maintains production records

• Responsible for overseeing that kitchen cleanliness and sanitation is maintained

• Responsible for accurate employee time records

• Responsible for ordering and inventory levels

• Trains and develops other food service staff

• Follows all USDA breakfast, lunch, snack guidelines

• Responsible for conducting all staff evaluations including annual evaluation and 90 dayevaluations for new employees

• Completes assigned SafeSchools training, as required

• Meets targets for food cost per meal, paper cost per meal, inventory levels, sales per labor per hour and increased participation percentage for

breakfast and lunch

• Meets all aspects of the Classified Employee Handbook

• Assures proper safety procedures are followed

• Assists in menu development with Director of Food Service

• Maintains all equipment in kitchen and assures working order of equipment

• Attends manager’s meetings

• Possesses a customer focused attitude

• Performs all duties as assigned by Director of Food Service and Building Principal

• Trains the second in command for all aspects of the job

• Provides positive leadership for staff in attitude and action

• Identify safety hazards and correct to eliminate accidents
