WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR

Slate is looking for an experienced and effective Manager, Accessory Integration develop and lead the team that defines and validates vehicle level performance for Accessories and Accessory attachment points (APs).

The Manager, Accessory Integration will help to oversee many aspects of our product and report to the Head of Vehicle Integration.

WHAT YOU GET TO DO

  • Lead the team that develops vehicle level targets for all Accessories and AP attributes for the complete vehicle, including Body, Interior, Chassis, and Electrical.

  • Lead vehicle integration of all Accessory and Accessory attachment points (SAPs), including requirements, feasibility, and validation at the vehicle level.

  • Lead the team to identify and resolve Accessory integration and design issues as the vehicle is developed.

  • Lead Accessory team meetings, working with all product development teams including systems and components, packaging, manufacturing, and service to ensure the technical targets are set, solutions are optimized for all stages of the vehicle's life, and validation is executed.

  • Lead the team in problem resolution, with the ability to present recommended solutions to the management team.

  • Maintain vehicle level scorecards with input from the team.

  • Manage a budget to support virtual and physical validation.

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field is required. Master's degree is preferred.

  • 8+ years of complete vehicle development experience in the automotive industry, including target setting, feasibility, and validation at the vehicle level.

  • Design Release Engineering experience is a plus.

  • Accessory experience is a plus.

  • Broad vehicle development process knowledge, including how to set technical targets, work with teams to determine feasibility (virtually and physically), and validate with statistical confidence.

  • Functional experience with all NHTSA / FMVSS, CARB, EPA, FCC, or other regulatory requirements.

  • Technical writing and documentation experience is required.

  • Excellent team building and relationship building skills, including the ability to lead teams and meetings through technical tradeoffs and optimized solutions with attention to detail.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve common goals.

  • Highly adaptable and proactive, excelling in fast-paced start-up and new model launch environments.

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have the ability to travel (up to 20%).

  • Must have the ability to lift up to 35 pounds.

  • Must have the ability to stand, walk, and perform repetitive tasks for extended periods.
