Job description

Success Starts Here. Educating Children, Empowering Families, Strengthening Communities. Denise Louie Education Center has been providing comprehensive, multi-cultural early education and family support services to low-income, at-risk immigrant, and refugee communities residing in King County for over 40 years.

Today, Denise Louie serves nearly 950 children and families with preschool, home visiting, and socialization groups--all of which are offered at no cost. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Health Coordinator to join our cause. The Health Coordinator collaborates with birth to three staff, medical professionals, and Early Head Start program families to identify customized health supports for each enrolled child and provides resources to the family to ensure preventive care, referral, and treatment as needed.

The position is also responsible for enhancing the health program, ensuring compliance with agency protocol and performance standards, and helping DLEC maintain best practices, to facilitate more efficient operations. Location: EHS/Admin 6363 7th Ave S., Suite 222, Seattle, WA 98108 Essential Functions: Assist with outreach to community health providers for referral and recruitment of Early Head Start children. Review child health paperwork, conduct sensory/growth screenings, facilitate referrals and treatment for children with health concerns, support appropriate health education, and follow-up for all enrolled families

As appropriate, coordinate health reviews, consultation, and referrals with appropriate staff, consultants or special services providers, and family. Train new and existing birth to three staff in age-appropriate health education, practices, and procedures. Coordinate with assigned birth to three staff to monitor and support individual child progress, and relevant follow-up for child and family.

Collaborate with Home Visitors to support families in completing health screenings, accessing care, and navigating referrals. Traveling to various sites and conducting home visits to perform hearing, vision, and other necessary assessments. Enter health screening information into the data system promptly and analyze data to identify and enact program improvements.

Prepare and submit required reports such as immunizations, program information reports (PIR), Monitoring audits and health status reports with recommendations for follow-up or training. Document referrals for health care providers and follow-up care; establish referrals for care. Collaborate with the health program by identifying and implementing improvement strategies and educating fellow DLEC team members on best practices.

Additional Responsibilities Work with birth to three staff to understand and apply content relevant to health screening and health education as needed. Maintain and oversee health screening equipment and necessary forms. May train and mentor interns, and/or provide supervision of Health Assistant Pay: $28.89 - $33.18/hourly, DOE and preferred qualifications Benefits : As a Denise Louie Education Center team member, you may receive some or all of the following employee benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Flexible Spending, Health Savings, Long-Term Disability, and options for supplemental Insurance coverage

Team members are eligible to participate in the company 401(k) plan, which offers a non-elective employer contribution after an introductory period. In addition, eligible full-time and part-time employees will accrueup to total 160 hours of PTO and Sick, thirsteen paid holidays, and one personal holiday annually. Additional compensation may come in the form of tuition reimbursement, hiring, retention, longevity, referral, or special assignment bonuses, subject to budgetary limitations.
