Job Summary:
The Food and Nutritional Services Worker is responsible for preparing and delivering meals, maintaining kitchen cleanliness, and supporting food service operations to ensure quality, safety, and satisfaction for patients and staff.
How you'll contribute:
A food & nutritional services worker who excels at this role:
- Accurately prepare food trays for general and therapeutic diets, including special diet items as required.
- Verify tray accuracy and deliver trays or snacks to patient care units as requested.
- Clean and maintain the kitchen, storage areas, and food preparation equipment.
- Wash, sanitize, and store trays, dishes, and utensils.
- Set up the serving line with cold foods, condiments, utensils, and serving containers according to menus and instructions.
- Stock and store food items and maintain appropriate supply levels for upcoming meals.
- Assist with inventorying and storing incoming food supplies.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
What we are looking for:
- Education: High school diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience: Prior food service or customer service experience preferred.
- Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy. Must be customer service oriented and able to manage multiple tasks under pressure.
