Responsibilities

The Caylor Nickel Foundation Family YMCA is looking for an energetic, outgoing team player to fill the position of swim instructor to help create a safe and positive atmosphere in and around the pool and conduct swimming instruction in accordance with YUSA guidelines.

  • Connect: Build effective, authentic relationships with members, swim participants, and parents.
  • Nurture: Ensure a safe and positive environment for the swim lesson participants to succeed in program goals.
  • Inspire: Encourage the involvement of all swim participants.

Requirements

Candidates must be committed to contributing to the mission, culture, and values of the YMCA of Greater Fort Wayne as well as:

  • At least 16 years old.
  • Ability to work weekend hours.
  • Current American Red Cross, YMCA Water Safety Instructor, or willingness to get certified.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work.
  • Ability to relate to, welcome, and communicate with diverse groups of people regardless of age, race, economic status, religion, or cultural differences.

Salary: Part-time $12.44- $14.50 hourly
