A Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is a group of trained volunteers who assist their communities during emergencies and disasters. Members receive basic training in disaster response skills such as fire safety, light search and rescue, team organization, and disaster medical operations. CERTs support first responders by providing immediate help to victims, organizing spontaneous volunteers, and collecting disaster intelligence. Their involvement enhances community resilience by ensuring a coordinated and effective response to local emergencies.
