Job description

Salary Information

Compensation plans are based on a multi-step progression system. The pay range reflects the entry level and maximum salary potential in the assigned pay grade. \r\n**A starting salary may be negotiated and will be commensurate with education, training and experience in alignment with pay administration policies and Montgomery Personnel Board Rules & Regulations** \r\n

Nature of Work

The fundamental reason that this classification exists is to strengthen the social, physical, and economic infrastructure of neighborhoods and commercial corridors through the development and facilitation of partnerships between the city of Montgomery and public, nonprofit, philanthropic, and corporate organizations. Development will be focused at the community or neighborhood level in designated areas of the city which includes building assets both individually and collectively for the community or neighborhood. In order to assist the city in the achievement of its development goals, the major responsibilities for this classification include developing opportunities for cooperation and collaboration between the city and various stakeholders; studying economic and community issues, concerns, and best practices; and developing and facilitating the implementation of community economic development strategies in the areas of community building, place orientation, business orientation, and workforce development.\r\n

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in community planning, urban/city/regional planning, or a related degree and four years of community economic development/project management experience. A master's degree in a related field can be substituted for two years of the experience.\r\n\r\n\r\nNOTE:Qualifying education, training and experience that provide the\r\nrequisite knowledge, skills and abilities to perform the job will be considered.\r\n
