Job description
The Southern Dallas Thrives Initiative is a multifaceted vehicle of social change and impact for under resourced southern sector communities. The goals of the initiative are to:Â
Improve the quality of education, income, and health in southern Dallas, while strengthening and supporting southern sector philanthropic and collaborative efforts.Â
Southern Dallas Thrives delivers place-based strategies and resources, innovative program design, nonprofit capacity building and collaborative partnerships to the communities of Southern Dallas. Â
Support the targeted model of United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, tailoring programming and investments to address the real-time needs of communities. Â
Expand the capacity of local non-profit organizations through strategic investments, program development, and tactical collective impact. Â
The ideal candidate must be a solution focused self-starter who can conceptualize and develop plans for programming execution that yield impactful outcomes. Â
United Way of Metropolitan Dallas is committed to leveraging our resources and networks to unite people, ideas, and projects that create lasting change. Together, we believe we can build a future where every North Texan, regardless of race or zip code, has the opportunity and access to reach their full potential. We invite candidates who share this commitment to apply for open positions.Â
KEY RESPONSIBILITIESÂ
Relationship-Building with Key StakeholdersÂ
In partnership with the Southern Dallas Thrives team, this role strengthens existing relationships and forge new working partnerships with community leaders, service providers, corporations, funders, public sector, educational institutions, coalitions, and other stakeholders to collectively implement strategy. Â

- Communicate with other United Way departments, agencies, and community representatives, stakeholders, funders, etc. as appropriate (communication of goals, activities, outcomes, etc.)Â
Coordinate efforts for Southern Dallas Thrives as appropriate with Marketing, Finance, Resource Development, and Volunteer Engagement.Â
Program and Operations ManagementÂ
Manage current and future operations, processes, procedures, and projects that support the Southern Dallas Thrives team and programs.Â
Work to identify new and additional collaborative and support opportunities across multiple sectors for Southern Dallas Thrives. Â
Develop and maintain a comprehensive impact data & tracking system for Southern Dallas Thrives programs and partner collaboratives in the areas of education, income, health, and capacity building. Â
Identify new opportunities to support impact programming for community members, partners, collaborators, and funders within the southern sector and other UWMD service areas where applicable. Â
Support the efforts of developing and implementing UWMD’s impact goals, programs, collaborations, and methodology. Â

Review grant proposals and oversee portfolio of grants funded through United Way’s Southern Dallas Thrives initiative and community impact grants, assisting where necessary with UWMD’s & SDT’s holistic community and social impact investments.Â
Serve as program and event engagement implementation and execution lead for Southern Dallas Thrives and UWMD on relevant community centric activations, committees, and coalitions. Â
Provide on-going support to partner agencies, including monitoring outcomes to ensure programs align with the 10-Year Community Goals.Â
