We are currently seeking a Business Developement Manager in Tampa, FL to join our family.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Creates authentic engaging conversations that build trust over time.
  • Manages multiple clients, pursuits, events, and internal coordination effort simultaneously.
  • Maintains accurate and timely updates in the CRM software to ensure reliable reporting.
  • Reflects the high organizational standards of Batson-Cook's project managers and executives.
  • Interfaces daily with operations; construction literacy is essential for credibility and collaboration.
  • Leads the development and delivery of project pursuit presentations.
  • Coordinates rehearsal schedules, collaborates with marketing on visuals, and ensures messaging aligns with client priorities.
  • Identifies key hot topics and tailors' presentations to the decision makers involved.
  • Continuously seeks innovative ways to differentiate Batson-Cook in a competitive market.
  • Understands the division's three-to-five-year business plan and associated sales goals.
  • Develop a strategic sales plan aligned with long-term revenue targets.
  • Develop and maintain a strategic target market and client pursuit list with the VP of business development and general manager.
  • Identify key decision makers and establish monthly or quarterly touch point plans.
  • Identify early-stage projects over $15M and coordinate go-no-go meetings.
  • Attend client and community events to maintain visibility and strengthen relationships
  • Plan and host client engagement activities including lunches, dinners, industry outings, and events at least three to four weeks in advance.
  • Bring preconstruction and operations team members on client visits to deepen relationships.
  • Maintain communication with active clients to gauge satisfaction and identify concerns.
  • Assist in developing and managing the business development and sponsorship budget.
  • Attend strategic conferences, plan client engagement activities during these events.
  • Lead and collaborate with marketing on major RFP responses and pursuit presentations.
  • Support operations and client communication when project issues arise.
  • Apply DISC or other personality insights to tailor communication strategies.
  • Conduct win loss debriefs to identify strengths and improvement opportunities.

Preferred Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree from a four-year College or University and 7 years of experience in the construction industry or a closely related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Knowledge and understanding of the Tampa construction market.
