Job Summary

The AVP, Underwriting Analysis is on a team responsible for collection, organization, interpretation, analysis, scrubbing, documentation, and dissemination of complex data, and supporting various business teams with insurance products and processes related to Property Division.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

  • Represent Property Division as SME (subject matter expert) for inquiries and participation in cross-functional teams/projects for S/M/L initiatives, i.e., Data Store, STM initiatives, etc.
  • Business liaison coordinating requests/questions from service departments (Finance, Ceded Re, Claims, Actuarial, IT, Strategic Analytics, Compliance, Corporate UW, HR, Legal, UW Ops Services, Content Management)
  • Support data quality among Property units
  • Develop and maintain business templates for the Division on an as needed basis
  • Manage UW Letter of Authority and authority level analysis
  • Coordinate various audits (regional audits, SOX, corporate audit, reinsurer's audit)
  • Manage the Property Division SharePoint
  • Back-up coordinator for Business Continuity Plan for the Property Division
  • Provide underwriting support in application usage & navigation, maintain system access logs, and ensure appropriate access across the UW team
  • Support underwriting team to refine the Property form sets, endorsements, and other ad hoc projects

Required Skills and Abilities

  • Strong property insurance knowledge/background (including CAT exposure awareness preferred)
  • Proficient with insurance policy administration systems and a solid understanding of Microsoft Outlook, Copilot, Word, and Excel
  • Adept at problem solving, both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational skills; able to effectively prioritize and balance support for multiple stakeholders

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's Degree, with exposure to Economics, Mathematics, Business Administration, or Finance preferred
  • Minimum of 10 years of P&C insurance experience, with property underwriting or property analytics exposure preferred

For individuals assigned or hired to work in the location(s) indicated below, the base salary range is provided. Range is as of the time of posting. Position is incentive eligible.

For NYC: $123,400 - $191,600/year
For Chicago: $111,100 - $172,500/year
For Alpharetta: $95,700 - $148,500/year

  • Total individual compensation (base salary, short & long-term incentives) offered will take into account a number of factors including but not limited to geographic location, scope & responsibilities of the role, qualifications, talent availability & specialization as well as business needs. The above pay range may be modified in the future.
