Job description

Responsible for operational performance excellence. Monitors performance processes to increase efficiency and implement efficient and profitable operational processes. Assists the AVP position to promote consistent operational outcomes, growth, and standards. Mentor and assist in people development as needed. Responsible for the South Carolina Market Medical Group Day to Day Operations.
  • Administers established guidelines for prioritizing work activities, evaluating effectiveness, and modifying activities as necessary.
  • Promotes teamwork and empowers teams and individuals to meet their potential.
  • Supports quality and efficiency improvement efforts.
  • Provides positive feedback as well as constructive criticism.
  • Communicates pertinent clinic activities to departmental employees.
  • Communicates pertinent departmental activities to administrative report and other departments as necessary.
  • Establishes and maintains high level of employee morale.
  • Develops personal education to be proactive in meeting the future needs of the department.
  • Projects a positive, professional image.
  • Devotes 100% of time managing day to day operations.
  • Manages front and back office staff.
  • Maintains a high degree of knowledge of both VIA human resource policies and procedures along with VIA operational and billing policies.
  • Monitors billing procedures in the practice to ensure patient registration and billing is accurate and performed in a timely manner.
  • Maintains and ensures accuracy of monthly key indicators to include: knowing the status of daily work, knowing if planned work is completed on time, understanding both upstream and downstream impact, knowing that standard operational work is being followed and knowing when to take action and what action to take.
  • Oversees the purchasing functions for the practice.
  • Ensures office equipment is in working order.
  • Organizes meetings and education activities for the clinicians and/or staff as necessary.
  • Organizes and participates in VIA PC/PM marketing opportunities for the practices and programs.
  • Ensures general cleanliness, neatness and maintenance of the practice.
  • Reviews current literature and attends training sessions and seminars to keep informed of new development in the field.
  • Exceptional organizational and motivational skills.
  • Exceptional communication skills with a pleasant demeanor and ability to communicate with a variety of individuals in various job functions.
  • Professional appearance.
  • Must possess knowledge of modern office procedures and office equipment.
  • Must possess the ability to summarize financial and statistical information for review with the VIA staff.
  • CPT and ICD knowledge preferred.
  • eClinical works EHR knowledge preferred (or EHR general knowledge)
  • May perform other duties as required.

  • Bachelor's degree in business, healthcare administration or clinical related field or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred
  • Preferred 2+ years primary and/or palliative care experience and at least one year of supervisory experience or 1 year experience in leadership/management preferred.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite is required.
