Job description

Communications Specialist

We are looking for someone with a can-do attitude who is innovative, resourceful, energetic, and passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of children and families.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Develop and create content for newsletters, website updates, social media, email campaigns, and other communication channels.
  • Promote the Coalition's programs, services, and community impact through strategic communications and outreach efforts.
  • Identify and participate in community events and opportunities that increase awareness of the Coalition.
  • Develop presentations and communication materials tailored to families, community partners, and stakeholders.
  • Monitor engagement metrics and use data insights to improve outreach and family participation.
  • Assist with the design and development of marketing, outreach, and awareness materials.
  • Support updates and content management for the Coalition's website using WordPress.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure consistent messaging and branding across all platforms.

Education and Experience

  • Associate’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Early Childhood Education, or a related field required.
  • Minimum of two years of experience in communications, marketing, community outreach, customer service, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Experience with social media, website content management, and digital communications preferred.
  • Experience with WordPress, graphic design, or email marketing platforms is a plus.
