Job Description
  • POSITION SUMMARY
  • The SWGR PL Global Communications Manager is responsible for ensuring that the overall PL's supporting product / solution's messaging is up to date, current with Vertiv global formatting and most importantly represented in all of the Vertiv regions helping to ensure their success as well as support the Vertiv value proposition. The SWGR PL is responsible for both LV (Low Voltage) and MV (Medium Voltage) switchgear solution globally (primarily in the UL and IEC markets). Partnering with global Vertiv MARCOM, regional strategy and most importantly SWGR PL Product Management to ensure that all of these pieces are in place and effective.
  • RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Own and manage the audit process to ensure that communication documentation in the regions is in place and up to both Global MARCOM and Vertiv Legal standards for all of the Vertiv Global regions. This would include:
    • Standard Warranty Documentation
    • Operating Manuals
    • Factory Witness Test Reports / Documentation
    • CDE Documentation (Comply, Deviate, Exception)
    • Other compliance documentation like RoHS, Conflict Materials, Buy American, etc.
    • Brochures such as spec sheets, manuals, product selection guides.
    • Sales Training, Customer FAQs, Customer Testimonials, Use case articles.
  • Manage this global documentation library via the Vertiv NPDI process in conjunction with the Vertiv Global MARCOM team.
  • Coordinate with the Global MARCOM team to ensure website compliance, messaging and NDPI. The offer managers are responsible for the raw technical documentation, and the Global Communications Manager project manages the creation of the material through the Global MARCOM process.
  • Competitive assessment and close collaboration with Global Offer Management on competitive teardowns. Outputs of this competitive assessment summarized for Vertiv Sales and Customer comparison.
  • Coordinate the global SWGR tradeshow and industry fair participation. Done in conjunction with Global MARCOM but more importantly coordinating SWGR messaging, samples and personal participation in these shows.
  • Develop digital documentation library tied to Vertiv's global product configurators like CPR in the AMER region and C1 in the EMEA region.
  • At the close of NPDI development projects there are prototypes available for training and promotions needs. Manage where these samples are deployed across the global regions.
  • Manage trade associations and marketing opportunities like NEMA, 7X24, ASHRE, IEEE, etc.
  • Partner with Vertiv Government Relations globally to ensure that we're supporting these activities as it applies to our product and solutions.
  • Act as the liaison for Vertiv to participate in authoring white papers, customer speaking events, supplier testimonials.
  • In summary the Global Communications Manager ensures that 100% of the Global SWGR PL's communication documentation is in place, per the region's needs and in compliance with Vertiv MARCOM and Legal. This of course is done in close collaboration with Global Product Management and is aligned with the NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) Roadmaps. This includes launch, maintenance and phase out across the global product line.
  • QUALIFICATIONS
  • Minimum Job Qualifications:
  • Demonstratable experience in working with Global Product Lines (Electrification) and working with cross-functional teams to identify and execute on priority actions.
  • Ability to drive and accept change, continuous improvement processes.
  • Must have demonstratable skills with Microsoft office applications, particularly Excel. Smartsheet and Power BI experience beneficial.
  • Ability to directly interface with Customers, at the executive and technical levels, required.
  • Experience leading cross functional meetings and presenting to small groups, both in person and via conference call
  • NPDI (New Product Development Introduction) and PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) Experience
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a lifelong learner.
  • Preferred Qualifications:
  • Comfortable working autonomously.
  • Experience in introducing new processes to an existing organization.
  • Demonstrated competence in problem solving, data analysis, & project management
  • Direct experience in the NEMA (National Electrical Manufacture Association) Low Voltage Electrical Apparatus (less than 600V) and Medium Voltage equipment space.
  • Direct experience with low voltage (less than 600V) electrical components like circuit breaker, transformers, metering, arc flash mitigation equipment, etc. as well as Medium Voltage equipment 5kV to 40.5kV.
  • EDUCATION AND CERTIFICATIONS
  • B.S. or B.A. in Business or Communications preferred or equivalent experience in electrical equipment manfacturing.
  • MBA beneficial but not required.
  • PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Experience in a global, multi-cultural environment
  • TRAVEL TIME REQUIRED
  • 10 - 20 % Travel Required.
