Job description

Job Title: RCDD (Registered Communications Distribution Designer)
Work Location: Anchorage, AK (JBER)
Salary: Based on experience and will be discussed with manager in interview
REQUIREMENT- Must be a US Citizen and must pass a federal background review and drug screen
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Develop comprehensive communication distribution systems, including voice, data, and video networks, tailored to client requirements and environmental conditions specific to Alaska.
  • Create detailed design drawings and specifications for cabling infrastructure, ensuring compliance with industry standards and codes.
  • Conduct site surveys and evaluations to determine design requirements and feasibility, considering the unique challenges of the Alaskan terrain and climate.
  • Manage and oversee the installation and implementation of communication systems, coordinating with contractors, vendors, and internal teams to ensure timely and successful project delivery.
  • Ensure designs comply with relevant codes, standards, and best practices, including ANSI/TIA/EIA, BICSI, and NEC.
  • Perform system testing and validation to ensure performance meets specified requirements and troubleshoot and resolve issues related to communication systems and infrastructure.
  • Work closely with clients to understand their needs and provide expert guidance on communication system design and implementation, addressing client inquiries and concerns promptly and professionally.

Education/Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering, or a related field
  • Possess an active Registered Communications Distribution Designer (RCDD) certification
  • Minimum 5-10 years of RCDD experience with federal projects, particularly USACE, is preferred
  • Experience with military or government telecommunications projects. Active Secret or TS/SCI clearance preferred.
  • Proficient computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Revit/CAD, and Bluebeam applications. Technical expertise in commercial antennae television (CATV), audio visual/video teleconferencing (AV/VTC), local/wide area networks (LAN/WAN), Wi-Fi, distributed audio/overhead paging, distributed antennae systems (DAS), electronic safety & security (ESS).
  • Excellent project management and organizational skills, strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and effective communication and interpersonal skills.
